Nice, but in our time was the garden closed for a marriage-party. We could eating only in the room, but in this hot weather was better like the garden.

We made a reservation to his place taking a risk after reading some the reviews online. My husband had the gourmet set whilst I ordered off the main menu. The gourmet set we felt was average (the soup was extremely salty) whilst for my tafelspitz it tastes all right but what annoyed me was that if you wanted to drink... More

Positives: Excellent food, charming atmosphere, excellent service. Negatives: A little pricey, and smoking was allowed in the bar area. I would recommend asking for a table away from the bar area.

I've been here in june. The weather was perfect to sit outside. Schnitzel nicely done, good cold beer and the atmosphere is very calm.

We're foodies and love to spend extra on good food but the food here was outdated and tasteless. A decent place for guests with a very traditional palate but a higher end restaurant should offer more flavor. The potatoes were unsalted. The duck was dry I might as well have ordered turkey. Perhaps Wednesday is the chefs night off but... More

I walked here from my local B&B and was very impressed with both the ambiance of the restaurant as well as the service. Much of the menu was selections/different cuts of boiled meat and though that is not my favorite thing, it was good and tasty. I'm not sure if I would go out of my way to head to... More

Staying just a 5 minute walk away at the Villa Von Trapp, we took our host's recommendation and were not disappointed. The chef's amuse bouche of salmon tartare was a perfect start to a wonderful dining experience. Marinated char appetizer, pumpkin ravioli, and Wiener schnitzel with lingonberries were all beautifully presented and expertly prepared. Crepes with apricot jam topped of... More

this restaurant is about 15 minutes from old salzburg, so taking a cab is a must. a rarely large restaurant, the food is amoung some of the more creative, authentic Austrian fare i have seen. an attentive, though not so tourist welcoming wait staff, is probably the only negative here. the wine list is excellent, and if you don't mind... 10 minutes drive from center of Salzburg this beautiful typical romantic Austrian restaurant from 15th century. During summer try to book your table in the garden under the chestnut trees. Very friendly and competent service. Excellent Austrian food such as Tafelspitz from organic beef. Very good wine selection. Approx. 60 Euro incl. wine per person. Good value for your money.

Every time I visit Salzburg I love to go there for the famous "Tafelspitz" (boiled beef, served in broth). Great service, awesome wines and the comfortable setting of a typical Austrian "Stube" makes that place always a highlight.

Thank Peter S
