Maier's is located by a narrow and winding alley, Steingasse, on the northern side of the river in the centre of Salzburg. It's a nice walking distance but makes you check the map a couple of times. Anyway the trip is worth the effort since you will find a charming and wellcoming small restaurant with a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.... More

Was in Salzburg on my own with work and was looking for a less touristy place to eat and came across this on TA. So glad I went here. Small, cosy, attentive staff. The scallop ceviche with lemon sorbet blew my mind, and the steak was so tender I could have cut it with a spoon.

I found this place by accident on a recent trip to Salzburg ! Its not the cheapest place to eat but there is a small set menu of finely prepared food. The dishes were beautifully present and its the kind of place that seats no more than 20 people at a time so book in advance ! It was my... More

My husband and I enjoyed our first dinner in Salzburg at Maier's. We made reservations earlier that day for they are recommended. We dined outside with many others that appeared to be locals. Our server did a great job choosing wine for our dishes. Very relaxing atmosphere.

Small cozy restaurant. Menu changes every 2 weeks, the restaurant is famous for steaks. I recommend the Beef Tartar as appetizer. Good selection of local wines

I visited Maier's at the first night I arrived Salzburg. It took 300m from Makrtplatz on calm Steingasse. Roasted greenpeppers were served with very nice olive oil and halite. Then I ate filet mignoon, potatoes and sauteed string peas with bacon. It was perfect seasoning, I had Meringue for dessert. I think it shoud have added a few dots of... More

We ate there twice during our 3 day stay in Salzburg. The service was fast and friendly. The food was good, but not fantastic. My kids got the schnitzel both times and really enjoyed it. I tried the pork in beer sauce which I enjoyed, but my husband said we just okay. I love their dumplings. The second time I... More

Really friendly owner and staff who accepted us in even though it was nearly closing time. We all ordered steak, one to be cooked medium, 2 medium rare and one blue. All were cooked to perfection. Fabulous dining experience.

The restaurant is very small but used to offer good food. Lately chefs changed and food quality went down. Owner extremely unwelcoming perhaps due to the small crowded space and lack of waiters and cooks. Would make anybody nervous!!!It is a miracle how a cook can handle so many orders in such a small kitchen.
