Best to book early if you want to sit outside as there's limited seating, we booked a table that morning and was guaranteed a seat outside for early dinner. Husband had the pork schnitzels and I had the wild boar sausage. Both were very nice...More

Great food, very fair priced, service was wonderful, would go back any day. We did not have a reservation but they seated us anyway and got us in and out before the table was needed by a party.

We came here for dinner on a Saturday in July. We made a reservation a few weeks in advance, which we recommend as the restaurant was fully booked. We were given a lovely table on the terrace. Unfortunately, it was not the warmest, and we...More

This place was great! It was very hot the night we were there, so everyone was dining on the deck out back, but the inside would be so cute if the weather had been cooler. Staff was great. The fried chicken was killer-good. The beer...More

Ate here at a family on our last night in Salzberg. Excellent meal and service in this traditional Austrian restaurant. Wild boar wurst with roasted potatoes was the best sausage we've ever had. The pork medallions in pepper gravy was absolutely delicious. Dessert of berry...More

Very close to the center of old town, and worth every footfall. Warm interior, friendly service, very good food, and large portions. Reservations were made and our large table was waiting as soon as we walked in. Small kitchen, but exceptionally good food. Beer very...More

Chose barenwirt for our first dinner after a long day of travel. Could not have asked for a more authentic Austrian start! Friendly staff and delicious food. Sheeps cheese and tomato was great. Schnitzels, fried chicken, pork medallions and goulash were favorites. Only complaint was...More

Description
The Bärenwirt, located in the historic district Mülln, is one of the oldest inns in Salzburg. Hospitality plays an important role since 1663 and the traditional inn is run with a lot of personal commitment. At the Bärenwirt you enjoy traditional Austrian specialities and beer of the Augustiner Bräu, the oldest brewery of Salzburg. We recommend our fried chicken, which is known as the best one of Austria. The sunny terrace with view onto the river Salzach and the Kapuzinerberg, one of the two hills in the center of Salzburg, and the cozy guest rooms invite you to spend a relaxing and pleasurably time at the Bärenwirt. If you are planning a festivity with your family and friends the Bärenwirt provides the right offer. The package is called “Feiere dein Fest” and includes roast pork with dumpling and „sauerkraut“ and beer, which is drawn by yourself.
