Classical Austrian cuisine, very delicious

This is a small but fine restaurant which offers only Austrian-style cuisine, like Schnitzel or Gulasch. The price-level is ok despite the venue being located very central. Kitchen closes around 9pm, be aware. For 5 stars you'd only miss a more international touch and more space inside - both... read more

At the base of Schlosseberg Tunnel and Lift this restaurant has the ambience and feel of a home style restaurant. We were seated promptly and our drinks brought. We asked about various dishes and had them explained setling on the smaller portion of Venison dish and the pork offering of sausage, ham, pork roast, sauerkraut, herbed potatoe dumpling and a... We had a lovely meal with delicious Weinerschnitzel and beer-try for an outside table. We particularly enjoyed seeing the lighted Schlossberg.

Great location, unwelcoming benches, medium food, sour wine and medium service. Tasteless liver dumplings in beef soup, a bit hard Schnietzl, much more Gerstl than beans in that typical Styrian course, absolutely tasteless meat in the dish with mozzarella, tomatoes and pumpkin seed/oil.

Lovely place quite close to the series of steps leading up to the Schlossberg. Good to fortify yourself before starting the ascent. Certainly must rest there if you climbed down the stairs. Often music in the square at night with impromptu dancing by passeres by. Food isn't bad either.

Tried this restaurant out whilst on a day trip to Graz. Seemed like a nice place to visit after coming down from the Schlossberg and Uhrturm. Waiters were friendly and put up with my pigeon German (I like to try) then presented us with an English menu. We opted for the breaded chicken fillet salad and beef goulash. Both plates... More

Looking for a bite to eat and wanting some more traditional Austrian food, we visit the Alte Munze. It is also quite easy to stumble across at the base of one of the entrances to the Schlossberg. The Schnitzel was large, tasty and freshly cooked. The side salad with pumpkin seed oil was also great. Good solid traditional Austrian Fare!

We stop in to the restaurant because it was located at the base of the Uhrtum Clock Tower. Our waiter spoke very good English and walked us through the menu. This place has wonderful local fare. My goulash with Nokedli, was tinder, hot and oh so delicious. My wife wienershnitzel was stuffed with ham, and roasted peppers with a side... More

This restaurant is located right near the Russian stairs leading to the clock tower. My experience was a very good one . The restaurant is beautifully decorated. I ordered the stuffed snitzel with potatoes. It was my best snitzel in Austria yet ! Service was fast and very good . I give this restaurant high recommendation!
