Very nice accommodation in Graz forest/park - nature, calm and clean. Breakfasts were not so rich but for shorter staying it’s sufficient. Terace was so fresh and airy - ideal for summer evenings. I heard that restaurant is very favourite in Graz and car park was full every evening too. I had wiener schnitzel and i expected that it will be more tasty. I dont know how original wiener schnitzel looks like but this one was thin, overfried and dry. Parsley Potatoes and mixed salad were tasty. Other meals of our table were excellent. Good pear brandy and beer - bur i know better beer from Czech rep. Prices were higher. Carefull staff offered english menu and can communicate in english.

Were welcomed to a beautifully set table by the same waiter we had 4 years ago at a similar event. He was fast and efficient with service. Food portions were gigantic but my salad was limp and my Backhendl was cut so that I had a leg and breast in one piece, rather difficult to separate with a knife and fork and too large to bite into. Most of the guests were not into all the offered veggies but managed to finish the stuffed and fried aubergine or Meat dishes, The Wienerschnitzel came in two pieces and my daughter did not finish her portion.Dessert of ice creme and cake with whipped creme disappeared fast. I really felt that this restaurant has stayed the same and could perhaps do with an update in the menu. Sometimes less is more and better.

The restaurant Hauserl Im Wald is situated on the side of a pretty hill within extensive gardens on the edge of Graz. There are extensive dining facilities both inside the building and outside on multiple terraces. Even though it is still in the city it looks and feels as if you are dining in the countryside. We were there for Sunday lunch and although it was extremely busy the restaurant is really large and the staff seem experienced in dealing with large numbers of patrons. I had a fantastic and beautifully flavoured seafood bouillabaisse and it was very modestly priced at only 6.50 Euros. It was a very large soup and when you add in the supplied bread many would say it was quite enough for a total meal. I had a whole grilled trout for my main course. It was far larger than expected and came with heaps of assorted vegetables, salad and a large dish of potatoes. Sadly the trout seemed very soft and not very fresh. Taste was lacking and it seemed very over cooked. On the other hand, my wife was very pleased with her Atlantic salmon dish. The desserts were spectacular as per usual in Austria. Service was a little slow on this particular busy day but friendly and jovial. They have an English menu if you ask but it it's not fully up to date.

We wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It is 10 minutes walk from the nearest transport and in need of an upgrade. We arrived by train and taxi on a Monday evening to find that the restaurant, which features heavily in the hotel’s marketing, and was our reason for choosing the hotel, is shut on a Monday in high season. There is no other restaurant within walking distance so we were told to sort out an app and order our own food which took ages to arrive. The annexe is 10 minutes walk from the main hotel, again not mentioned when we booked, and we had to wait for the owner to deal with other guests before giving us a ride with our luggage. The Room was ok but too warm and with winter bedding on the beds. Not a great experience. Rooms lack enough power sockets and could do with a dust.

During the walk from Mariatrost to Hilmteich, a break here has become a must. For years the ‘Häuserl im Wald’ offers a huge selection of culinary delicacies in an appealing ambience. Competent and friendly staff complete the dining experience. We would definitely come back!

Hello, I was there on Saturday! How rude the waitress with the braces was is an absolute disgrace! Wow
We wanted to eat something there because we walked there, but after the waitress was so awful, we just wanted to leave quickly. We also waited over 25 minutes for the dog water (had to ask 3 times and then the rude answer: Madame, it just takes time!)
This waitress should be fired without notice! If she doesn't want to work, then she should stay at home!
I didn't touch my water either because I'm sure she spat in it!

A friendly waiter showed us to the reserved table. The dinner menu was full of local specialties. Starting with a delicious appetizer we got into deer and trout - very well prepared with nice accompanying local wine. The chef knows how to prepare a tasty Styrian cuisine and the service was attentive but not obtrusive. There are certainly cheaper restaurants in Graz, but value for money is great.

Lunch is the big meal in Graz, especially for families and on Holidays. This was May 1st Holiday weekend. and my brothers 50th b-day. We were 16 and had a reserved menu, typical Styrian food,.starting out traditionally with a glass of Sekt (sparkling wine or Champagne,) the timing from service was great and the quality of food excellent, the portions were big. It was a very busy place and there was absolutely no pressure felt by us or the staff.
I recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Graz.

The weather was perfect so we were sitting outside on the huge veranda. The menu had lot's of different dishes on as well as dishes which included for example fresh mushrooms. The service was great and friendly.

With a friend and my dog we've decided to spend a day in the nearby Rettenbachklamm and, after the excursion, we've decided to keep on staying together and to go to lunch somewhere.
When we've arrived to the restaurant we've noticed the presence of a big parking area, but unfortunately was completely full. We've then parked along the street and there was no problem. Talking later on with other people, this is quite common workaround indeed. The restaurant is very famous in the area and often crowded.
Despite the crowd, at the entrance we've received a very friendly welcome and brought immediately to our table. Also my small dog was accepted without problems. We've ordered "pfandl" with wild meat and with pork meat and blaufrankisch wine in glasses. Everything has been served very fastly and the meals were very warm.
Excellent food, excellent service, honest price and very friendly welcome even with a small dog.
Strongly recommended, we'll return there 100%.

Celebrated the birthday of my daughter here. We booked a table for 14 adults and 4 kids. The restaurant arranged our tables nicely and printed the menus too.
The food was excellen! Everything was quickly served. The food portion was big too!
This is a value for money restaurant! The food price ratio is reasonable.
The ambiance of the restaurant is relaxing and a plus point is the playground for kids.
Such a beautiful place! Highly recommended!
Thumbs up!

This place delivers in all classes: Service, taste and portion size.
It is in a lovely area of Graz, specially if you take the walk from Hilmteich towards Maria Trost.
