If you are visiting Linz and would like to try some of the local specialties, drop by to this place Menu is quite modest but everything in it is worth of trying, whatever you choose, you cannot make a mistake. To recommend are Beef tatar mediteran and...Viennese style backed chicken pieces. variety of tapas is worth of trying as well. For the beer lovers ,house own beer brands are perfect choice. Place is very spacious and nicely decorated. Service is good and professional. Only minus is that the Toilets are small and could be better maintained and cleaned.More

It's pretty big once you get inside, so there's plenty of tables. Linz not being a tourist town, not everyone speaks English so a bit of German would be helpful, but you could get away without it. The girl who seated me spoke broken English,...the guy serving my beers spoke none, but my food waiter was alright. The local beers were nice, just standard lagers and pale ales but still tasty. The food here was delicious. I ordered the beef soup (which came with the soup on the side for me to pour into the bowl) and the goulash, and both were fantastic. Yes there are a fair few smokers inside, but it's not all that bad and you do get used to it after a while. If you're that concerned, just ask to move tables or outside.More

We came here for late lunch/early dinner. First of all, every guest has to cross the smoking area in order to reach the non-smoking area. Completely ridiculous and insane that this is allowed. The open (!!!) kitchen, salad buffet, bar AND toilets are all in...the smokers section of the restaurant. The non-smokers area was pretty full so we chose a table at the very end. No waiter came so I tried to find one and he asked us nicely, if we could please come and get a table closer to the entrance, since he has to prepare the tables for dinner and wants to start in the back. Ok, we did how he asked us. Ordered, got our food, which was quite good, no complaints on that front. At some point, a waitress placed a reserved sign on our table, stating that a new group will come in 15 min. She didn't say a word to us and saw, that we were still in the middle of our meal. 15 min later, our waiter asked us AGAIN to move tables. We were not finished eating and had to carry all of our stuff plus plates and cutlery to a new table, which was very drafty. The reservation and table management was SO bad, it really made us upset. In addition, we had a couple of other unpleasant experiences. The bar area, where all drinks are being prepared, is dimly lit, so we got a dirty coffee cup, cause the waiters have no chance to see if something is perfectly clean or not. The waiter cleared our plates extra plates, that still had food on them, when we weren't paying attention. No words of "can I take this or are you still eating this", he just took it. Also, this poor stressed guy smelled terribly sweaty. An extra set of shirts would be needed plus a good management pointing it out to him. He has a stressful job and sweating is a logic consequence but there are mitigation strategies ;)More

I was there on Saturday around 2 p.m. The restaurant wasn't full but it took 20 minutes to get menu and another 20 minutes to get beer which came even after meal. But we were too hungry and almost all restaurants in the city center...were closed so we stayed. On the other hand I can not say that waitresses didn't work hard but there was very bad organization of work. And I have to say that meal was very good especially when you are looking for local food.More

Joseph Linz is quite known by serving lots of Austrian traditional cuisine, however the food is really nothing special and could easily left you disappointed. Thought the atmosphere is really nice and the staff is very friendly, it’s extremely disorganized. Been to Josef many times...and not once it happened they actually delivered the actual food that was ordered. The last time I’ve been there in September 2018, I was extremely surprised when the starter course was delivered together with the main course - I’ve never seen that anywhere else in my life. We were visiting the restaurant with business partners and one could imagine what an embarrassment this has been. The safest thing to order there is pasta, the rest of the dishes I tried were either tasteless or very dry. Would definitely not recommend this restaurant to take your business partners and customers to.More
