Have dined here several times over the years and the quality of the food has remained fairly good. There is a decent choice of burgers and crepes on offer and a "Specials" board. The fish and chips are usually very good. Please note that sometimes...it's impossible - literally - to get something to eat at lunchtime. Been there a few times before 1pm only to be given short shrift - either the chef's "gone home" or reservations are required (when the place has maybe a dozen diners and a hundred empty seats!).More

We tried a pizza, which was very large and very good, a burger, definitely to be recommended, and a 3 course meal from the blackboard which was good value and very tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely return!

Lunch for two (chicken and chips and cod with all the trimmings followed by ice cream and creme brullee). Washed down by a bottle of Muscadet. All for €36. Very good service as well.

The whole of this area has been improved year on year. The traffic now is one way, and there are paths to walk on. The cafe is ideally situated, overlooking the lake. We have never eaten there, only had ice creams or coffees, which were...acceptable. Others have commented on the level of hygiene, which I have to confirm. That has somewhat put us off from eating a meal here. The female staff who we have encountered are very amateurish in their approach.More

We fancied a few cold drinks by the lake. Went to the bar, two ladies serving who then disappeared, a mature lady took over who did not know what she was doing. Finally upon being served one glass was produced that held empty corks, was...emptied then rinsed, glass was so obviously dirty yet it was being used to pour beer into. As I did not want to be ill we leftMore

The location is great next to the lake and the staff are attentive. We chose the hake which couldn't be faulted, the lamb was full of flavour and the burger tasty with great chips. I would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone and the crepes...are great value!More

Just had a lovely meal at this restaurant. The 3 course set menu proved excellent value and the service was great. Our daughter had spaghetti Bolognnaise and without prompting we were asked if we wanted that to come out at the same time as mine...and my husbands starters which was just the ticket. Fromage selection was local and very tasty. Some of the dishes that came out to other tables looked wonderful - especially the fruits du mer platter which was really something. Toilets very clean. All in all all a great experience and if we were back in Cabourg I wouldn't hesitate in returning.More

We recently ate at the Restaurant L'Embarcadere after a hearty walk through the drained Lac de Guerledan. When the lake is there (previous and next years) it makes a fantastic vantage point to watch the water sports whilst eating. We have been returning to the...restaurant for many years. The food is always well cooked and ranges from simple sausage and chips & pizza's (which are REALLY good) up to duck with lovely sauces. This year, even with a full restaurant the food met the usual standards and the service was surprisingly quick considering the number of people eating. This time we just had the "fish and chips", the fish was cooked to perfection, the batter was amazingly light and crispy. The portion size looked small on the plate but it certainly filled us up for the rest of the day, any more and it would have been a waste. There is a good selection of drinks, I had a local breton beer so it was a good job we were walking rather than driving! The staff were always friendly and even with my pigeon french I got by (even through most of the staff speak English!). We will be returning next year.More
