Theo’s restaurant is well located on the old harbour at Paphos. The fresh fish display was impressive and we were tempted in for a late lunch. Lunch and dinner menus seem to be the same with the addition of starters in the evening. While the “catch of the day” looked pricey at €70 per kilo, the fixed price dishes such as sea bass and sea bream were reasonable at around €16. They were a good size and arrived perfectly cooked and fairly well filleted, with equally well cooked vegetables and fries or jacket potato (keeping both me and my wife happy!). With a slightly overpriced (compared to other restaurants) carafe of local wine to wash them down we thoroughly enjoyed our meal returning for an equally good meal another evening. The decor is modern and stylish and the staff were attentive and efficient. While this restaurant gets mixed reviews our experience was good – perhaps being low season makes a difference.

Hadn’t booked however given a seat overlooking the sea. Very busy Food was coming out quickly A little expensive for portion sizes especially the prawn starter. The salmon was a little dry and lacked flavour. Maybe a bad choice . Overall quite pleasant but pricey

Theo's is well-situated in the harbour. At night, the view of the twinkling light along the coast is stunning. And inside, with tall pyramidal flame heaters, the atmosphere is quite cosy. The staff are friendly and attentive. Slight negatives are the quality of some fish dishes and, of course, being in the tourist area, it is expensive (double the price of similar meals in less touristy areas). But nevertheless, it's interesting and we usually pay two or three visits a year.

Where do I start... after being impressed by one of the restaurant owners on a previous night we chose to eat here. Upon arrival we were sat at a table squashed in between two tables, hardly able to move between each never mind adhere to social distancing. One of these tables chose to smoke throughout which was rather unpleasant for us due to the close proximity of the tables but I appreciate that’s their choice and not a major gripe. As we ordered our meal, the female waitress dealing with us took my partners drink order and as I told her my own she proceeded to turn around and top up the next tables wine, actually telling me to wait a minute, before turning round to take my drink order. In hindsight I should’ve left at this point due to the sheer rudeness of her behaviour but sadly we chose to stay. Bread on the house was first provided, obviously this isn’t usually an item to moan about, it turned up look warm but was clearly microwaved and had started to harden like cardboard. After a wait our meal arrived... firstly my partner ordered Avocado and Shrimp cocktail, what arrived was similar to a teaspoon scoop of a supermarket prawn cocktail pot. Two shrimps were all that was present, a handful of prawns and NO avocado at all. They charged us €9.50 for the pleasure of this. Secondly my Beef Kebab arrived and to be fair the beef was cooked nicely and tasted good. However, the three skewers contained one 1cm square of pepper and onion on each and 3 small beef cubes, leaving me rather disappointed. A separate bowl of veg was also provided but it seemed very similar to a frozen pack of carrots and green beans you’d get in the supermarket. I was left feeling rather hungry at the end of this and €18 lighter. We raised the fact that no avocados were present in the cocktail and firstly the waitress shot off from the table with no explanation before returning a few minutes later to argue that she thought that’s what we’d ordered and then to question why my partner hadn’t finished each And every single prawn on her plate. A lame and unwilling apology followed with the gesture of coffee liqueur to compensate... unbeknown to me at this point every table behind us had received this gesture as standard when requesting their bill. To summarise, we’ve left feeling the setting and service were nothing short of appalling, the food rather disappointing and the price absolutely scandalous.

The service was very good as well as appetizers we had. The atmosphere was quite loud but nice anyway, you could hear green music and there were a lot of fans so you didn’t sweat so much even sitting outside. But the disappointment came in a form of a seafood platter… only one fish sort and grilled octopus was tasty. Everything else was ok or straight up bad. The side dishes ruined everything, we got one plate with oven baked potatoes, three broccoli pieces and like 6 cooked carrot pieces. They could really step it up with serving some green salad for a side dish instead. Btw the chairs were really uncomfortable, got pain in the back after sitting like 30-40 minutes…

We visit theos yesterday and was for another one time perfect. It was very busy because of the good weather. We seat outside to the water side and we enjoy our food again. The waitress when we order the fresh fish she tall us very polite it will take little time to be ready our food because everybody seat at the same time, we said to her no problem. We didnt wait long time believe me, and the fish was more than perfect. Super food, special service and the most clear restaurant. Thanks again guys.

Theo's Restaurant is situated in the heart of the Paphos Harbour, on the pier itself. It serves amazing fresh fish dishes and has both indoor and al-fresco dining. It is the perfect romantic spot to enjoy some lunch or dinner. Sitting outside in the summer (during the daytime) can be quite hot however they do have lots of fans which keep you relatively cool. The food was delicious and we enjoyed some white bait, fish platter and salmon dishes – each were cooked superbly to perfection and seemed freshly caught (we got told to ask for 'Cyprus fresh' fish when entering a restaurant as apparently some of the restaurants fish is frozen which obviously isn't as good/tasty). The menu prices were slightly on the more expensive side for Paphos (around EUR 16 – EUR 30 per dish depending on what you're ordering) but it makes up for it with quality and location. The staff were extremely friendly and helped us with our menu choices which was a nice touch. Finally, the toilets are located upstairs (around 30 steps in total) so if you have mobility issues you may need to find somewhere else close by to use the loo. Overall we had a lovely visit and would visit Theo's again on our next trip to Paphos. We had a lovely day. Instagram/Youtube: @journeywithuss

Just visited Theo’s this evening after a lovely day in Paphos . Ordered sword fish it was cooked to perfection served with jacket potatoes and spinach in garlic . House wine was wonderful chilled perfectly. The whole restaurant is immaculate so clean fresh linen table cloths and napkins over looking the harbour. Wonderful family run restaurant with smily lovely staff. Also bonus wonderful rest rooms again immaculate and with anti bac gel. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant in Paphos Cyprus.

We decided to try this as it looked a nice place to eat, they’re all nicey nicey to get you through the door but omg as soon as you’ve sat down & ordered, they can’t wait to get you back out again…no customer service at all. Portions tiny for the money they charge, no one checked to see if we wanted any more drinks or even a dessert. no bread delivered even though tables around us were being delivered them - we left there hungry which we’ve never experienced before - and we left no tip, they weren’t worthy we felt - we won’t be going back & their service is terrible Finally we asked for our bill which arrived sharpish (no surprise) but literally 2 seconds later the waitress arrived with the card machine for us to pay…I hadn’t even looked at the bill so I sent her away…honestly, don’t waste your money here there are plenty of other fantastic restaurants along the harbour…

This was an impromptu visit , as my hotel is all inclusive. I had set off for a walk to Paphos old town , which turned out to be quite a long walk (10km by the time I arrived in the harbour, and 13.5 km in total). I had tried en route to buy a bottle of water as is was midday and hot weather for walking , but I only had a Eur 20 note and they didn’t have. Change of a 50 c bottle . This is an aside to my review but the shopkeepers offered to just let me have the bottle for free... I couldn’t bring myself to accept as COVID times are difficult here, but thank you whoever you were . Anyway I arrived at the restaurant desperate for a large cold drink and ordered a large Diet Coke , but when it was delivered I knew it wouldn’t touch the sides, so I immediately ordered another .. apologising for making the waiter go back immediately for another . I ordered muscles in white wine and garlic , it came with frites and (a superfluous bowl of carrot and cucumber .. which I didn’t touch, not because there was anything wrong with it , it was all fresh and good quality, just because , to me , it didn’t seem to go with muscles). I also had garlic bread for the sauce which was lovely) . The muscles came in a small frying pan and were superb , not gritty at all , and the sauce was delicious. The frites were also great. The staff were attentive and friendly- I could see that , even though Paphos is quiet at the moment the restaurant was busy with locals / regulars (always a good sign!). The location , harbour side was lovely . I am travelling on my own back to the UK to avoid hotel quarantine. Had I been with my wife , I would have made the lunch more leisurely and for sure chosen one of this mornings catch , displayed on ice by the entrance. I could see some people choosing their fish to be cooked how they liked, and for sure that is what I would have done had circumstances been different. Anyway a lovely restaurant , not cheap (close to Eur 30 without alcohol ) but that’s because of its location and excellent food. Definitely recommended- thank you

We've been coming to Theo's every summer for the past 10 years and the quality has always been excellent! No matter which fish dish we order, we find it fresh and perfectly seasoned. The staff is warm and welcoming, especially Mr Andros who gave our son special attention and showed him a gorgeous sea turtle and other small fish swimming below the outdoor deck area of the restaurant. What a treat! If you are visiting Paphos, put Theo's at the top of your list of places to dine!

My husband and I chose Theo’s a few times whilst on honeymoon. In total we ate four meals there, two at lunch time and two for evening meal. The food was consistently good every time, fresh, cooked to perfection and very tasty. The location is great, the dining area is right over the water. Excellent value for money and great service. The staff go out of their way to ensure you have an enjoyable meal and if you are really lucky at lunch time you might see a turtle or two! We will definitely go back next time we are in Paphos

We walked past in the day and decided to stop in, mainly due to the fish on display. We had prawns nd avocado starter which came with one larger prawn and the rest salad prawns. I had clams what were full of sand which I left in the end. I mentioned this to the staff and was told they would let the chef know. Nothing come of this. We then had surf and turf and chicken kebabs for mains, the steak was lovely although under cooked (I dont mind rare either thankfully) my partners chicken kebabs came in a plate of 4 wooden kebabs with 3 small cubes of chicken on each. Nothing else.. maybe a who chicken breast used at most. We shared green beans. Very disappointing! Definitely not worth 100 Euro!!! In fairness, we did have a mojito each which again wasnt great.

We visited Theos twice in our week's stay near Paphos, and both times we came away delighted. Andreas was out front corralling people in to dine at his restaurant but to be honest there wasnt much need as the place was packed both times we visited. Great food, great views of the harbour, well informed waiting staff, I can't recommend this place enough, and coming from a person who isn't a big fish lover that is saying something! I had the Bream and Sea Bass, both cooked to perfection. Decent size portions, lovely deserts, I cant fault the place.

Food was average especially the muscles. Tasteless and almost half quantity was empty. The seafood salad was made to take selfie with not to eat it as the portion is too small and too much lemon marinated. We ordered main dishes took ages to got served, when we asked for the food after almost 40 minutes the waitress gave us a rude reply and wasn’t able to handle our concerns professionally. The place is really average as well as the food. Wondering why it’s overpriced like this. I mean we have been dining in the city the whole week and had a nice memories with places even better with more delicious food and way cheaper.
