Wow! Lovely restaurant 10/10

Wow what a lovely restaurant ! Don’t be fooled by the stairs going up the restaurant (don’t judge a book by it’s cover) inside it’s lovely! Our uncle came to Paphos a few weeks before we did told us “It was the best Chinese he’s ever had” hmm….we will be the judge of that! He was right, the food was excellent. Big and varied menu with great choices! Set menu options too. I’m vegetarian and they even offered me things off the menu, very accommodating.Truly the best service & food! Vegetable Chow mien was delicious, tempura, chicken balls, salt and pepper chicken. It’s reasonably priced and we will be remembering this restaurant for many years to come. Yammas! TIP : Prebook to avoid disappointment!! (A few families were sadly turned away as they it was so busy & they didn’t prebook)

The best Chinese food in Cyprus

Probably the best Chinese restaurant in Cyprus, amazing food, friendly staff and great service. At last our first visit here in over a year. We had salt and chilli prawns and steamed Wan Tuns to start both were delicious and beautifully presented. Crispy Peking duck followed which was also perfect. Our main courses were chicken with bamboo shoots and Huan style crispy pork accompanied by noodles and bean sprouts. We were so impressed I can’t speak highly enough of this restaurant. Highly recommended.

Great Asian food!

Stumbled upon this place by mistake and wow! What a good surprise! We ordered the Mala tofu (amazing- as a vegan I can identify good tofu when I see one), fried rice, a dish of asparagus and mushrooms, and chicken with black beans and green peppers. All the dishes were really tasty, in a decent portion, and priced fairly. The whole meal including two beers was around 30€. The service is great- good English and smiley waitresses :) Thanks so much for a great meal!

Saw that they offered vegan options from previous reviews. The vegetable spring rolls are NOT vegan as they use egg whites to bind the pastry. However, that being said they were happy to make a vegetable tempura patty vegan which was quite nice. The tofu with mixed vegetables (not on menu, but happy to do it) was really nice and the sauce was rich. Vegetable rice was average containing a few grated vegetables. Kung po king prawns were quite spicy but pleasant overall.

We visited this restaurant, hidden upstairs behind the Cavallini restaurant. The food was excellent with good portion sizes with a wide variety of choice. The service was excellent. We had the set menu for 2 with duck and it was the best duck i have ever had, with loads of meat (no bones or fat), spring onion, cucumber and sauce. No need to stretch out the meat!! This was followed by 3 dishes plus rice for the main course and was plentiful. Prices are slightly cheaper than the 2 other Chinese restaurants nearer the town centre and having been to Chloe's which is also very nice, i think this one is better value for money with food just as good, if not better. Waiters were very attentive and helpful and they let us change one of the main meal options on the set menu for another, which was very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

One of the best Chinese meals

The restaurant inside is impeccable , lovely decoration and the outside terrace was well spaced out. Had the set menu for 2 and everything was delicious. The mixed starters was huge and everything was so tasty hardly left us room for the main. Main course was equally as tasty , rice cooked to perfection, sweet and sour chicken was beautiful and the crispy shredded chilli beef was the best I have ever tasted. So much food had to take most back to the apartment and all for just 20 euros per person. Will definitely be returning when back in paphos ! You must go here

Visited as a couple whilst on holiday at Athena beach along the road. Set back from the road slightly and up some stairs, but once you enter it's one of the nicest Chinese restaurants we have visited. The greeting was warm, the service was good, and most importantly the food was excellent. We had crispy duck, then s/sour chicken, Kung pao prawns (which were huge), fried rice and Singapore rice noodles, all capped off with a bottle of Aussie red and the bill was under 80 Euro's! We would definitely return and would recommend if you are a lover of good Chinese food.

Decided to go there for dinner after reading a few reviews, some saying this was the best Chinese in Paphos, not true, actually the food was very average, greasy spring rolls and poorly prepared dumplings and wontons. The main dishes was just ok, far away from being ''the best chinese in Paphos''. The steamed rice was not Chinese style, to eat with chpsticks, and didnt seemed like being of good quality. Left really dissapointed . The best thing was the service. We are not planning in visiting again.

I have been many times to Xiang Gong and always you get excellent tasty food at a reasonable price . The staff are always very friendly and attentive. If you enjoy Chinese food this place is well worth a visit.

Delicious... Again

I gave this a five star review a year and a half ago, and now we are back in Cyprus we came the whole way from Peyia to eat here tonight. We both had special street noodles, and the meal was delicious, slightly spicy, with huge prawns, pork, beef and chicken on a bed of yummy noodles and vegetables. Service was efficient and friendly, and I would highly recommend this lovely Chinese restaurant.

Sadly gone downhill

We were here 2 years ago and were served decent chinese food, however, our recent visit was very dissapointing. The service was slow, orders were wrong and some dishes were sent back as they were cold. We did notice a constant stream of take away orders being picked up so maybe they had over stretched the kitchen and seated guests were placed second to take aways. The food is expensive by UK Chinese standards and should have been better.

Can’t get a Wolt order right

Ordered 3 times in the last month via Wolt . First time perfect , 2nd time I asked for beef with green peppers and no carrots , it was full of carrots . Last night I ordered beef with green peppers and black bean sauce with no carrots and got beef with mushrooms , not a green pepper in sight . So frankly I give up

Hi apologies for mistakes.The 3 order comment it was . 1 (please do not put carrot in the Beef with black been). 2 (please not but carrot in the beef end black bean). 3 (please no but carrot in the beef end green pepper). Your 2nd order first mistake the beef has carrot. After i see in the WOLT your complain end your before orders i speak to the stuff . The last order it was different in the end of comment (end green pepper) . The waiters wright the order beef with out carrot end green peppers , the mushrooms include in the recipe.Sorry again ,order anytime .Thank a lot.

Amazing food

We ate here last night and is probably the the best Chinese we have had, portions are a good size, friendly staff and good service. To start with we had the duck spring rolls, satay chicken and salt and chill ribs, all really nice the ribs just fell off the bone. We then had the crispy duck pancakes which where lovely and every bit of the duck was crispy. For mains we had the crispy chilli beef, sizzling chicken satay and mixed special noodles, the noodles had loads of meat and fish in. We ordered to much really as did not realise the portion size. Would definitely recommend and would definitely go back.

Great service, unflavoured food

After several weeks of eating great Cypriot food, we decided to change. For change we choose thid restaurant. Positive was that even without a reservation we got a table. Service was very nice and very professional. Unfortunately, that was the only positive. The food we ordered was absolutely tasteless. Chicken cashew nut and Sichuan Chicken absolutely without any flawour far away from chinese food. It's nice for someone who has never traveled beyond Western civilization.

We dined here on the first night in Paphos staying at the nearby Amphora Hotel and Suites. Living in rural Ireland, a Chinese of any type is a delicacy for us! So we checked the reviews and chose Xiang Gong. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent. There are Chinese Restaurants (good ones) and there are Chinese Restaurants (not so good ones). This is one of the good ones. Nothing was too much trouble and our request of Green Tea with our meal was granted without a problem. We had a couple of really nice cocktails before our starters and even they were well prepared. The Hot and Sour soup was AMAZING! In fact every dish was prepared very well. I really don’t understand the negative reviews saying it’s very ordinary? Service on the first night was excellent. We decided it was so good that we would return again towards the end of our trip which we did. However, they were a lot busier this time and service was not up to scratch. It seemed to us they were understaffed for the busier service (it was a Bank Holiday) and as a result at the end of the meal we were left sitting for way too long. Our waitress had a small accident when clearing our dishes but we were asked if we would like a dessert on the house. We declined because it’s hardly a problem. The slightly less than attentive service during our last visit has cost them one star, but don’t let that, or the fact you have to go upstairs to the restaurant put you off going as its one of the better Chinese restaurants in Paphos.
