We spend a lot of time in Cyprus and some of our family live out there so it's great to have found this brilliant Indian restaurant. We have been getting takeaways from here for last few years every week we are out there and have...never been disappointed. Their vegan dishes are very, very good and if you specify you get plenty of heat as well. On the vegan and vegetarian dishes they are way better than our local Indian restaurants back in the UK. A particular favourite of ours is the Dal Fry (hot) as well as the Aloo Matar I've eaten inside their small air conditioned dining room as well a few times and the entire place is spotlessly clean and the service is friendly and efficient.More
The food was more than excellent and very modestly priced. Each of our (2) curries were incredibly tasty, well balanced, and the lamb was as tender as can be. The entrees (especially onion baji) were fantastic. Although I have had the pleasure to enjoy the...Indian cuisine in many countries, this restaurant stands out as probably one of the best. 5/5, strong recommend!More
Even before entering the restaurant, we were intrigued by the aromas, and delighted by the welcoming staff.
So, this place earns all five stars strictly on the basis of their delicious food and excellent service. The menu includes some South India selections, and we tried...the Dahi Vada as a starter. It looked like not much of anything, but the levels of flavor in the yogurt-based sauce was a wonderful surprise.
We then had the Chicken Hyderabadi and the Lamb Rogan Josh. Both were great! Each dish had a depth of flavor that can only come from slow and careful preparation, and the chicken and lamb were well integrated into each dish--they didn't taste like someone took plain cooked meat and poured a sauce onto it.
We have friends visiting soon who are vegetarian, and I am sure that they will enjoy the large selection of vegetarian dishes that are available. And, the menu even includes a few prawn dishes, as a nod to the local seafood-loving population.
As noted, the five stars are all based on the great food and very pleasant staff. The interior of the restaurant is clean and bright, and the seating comfortable enough, but very plain and quite small. If the restaurant is crowded, you may want to opt for take-out. So, you won't go there for the décor, but do go for the food!
We look forward to returning soon.More
The restaurant gets all-stars, but I have to say, there has been confusion from time to time.
I am not a big meat eater and I am not a fan of dairy. You could call me an almost accidental vegan.
One dish I love -...moving away from it though for healthier lifestyle is Rogan Josh, wow, the lamb is so tender, the best I have had here in Limassol if not for quite sometime anywhere
The Thali (my preferred choice these days) comes varied which was not communicated to me and it came with paneer - I hate paneer with a passion.
One thing Kalimera India could do when ordering the same thing over again, is when the dish changes, to let the customer know.
The Thali is exceptionally good.
The Dosa, in my opinion should be very thin.More
One of the best and authentic Indian restaurants I have been in the last years. Food is prepared with wide verity of spicy levels for every taste. Service is impeccable and professional. Highly recommended place for authentic Indian food.
This is a little jewel in the hustle and bustle of Limassol.
It is very simple. Plain Formica tables unfussy chairs and benches and a simple menu, reminiscent of some of the curry houses in Brick Lane London in the 80’s.
The food is excellent...and you can specify the “heat”.
Prices are fair and staff cheerful and helpful. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is down to the very limited beverages on offer.
Well worth a visit.More
