Today I had the opportunity to visit this restaurant and a person caught my attention in how they approached us and dealt with our orders and services. If I am not mistaken her name was “Ralitsa” and she is a trainee. Her attitude and the way she approached me and my friend was wonderful. If I was her manager I would personally give her a raise and be very grateful she is in the team.

Very good everything!

We were a Muslim family of 7 (with 2 children) and visited Artima twice for dinner. Because the restaurant does not offer halal food, we had to go for vegetarian and seafood dishes. From their soup, to their starters and salad, to their main courses and especially their dessert and coffee, EVERYTHING IS PERFECT!. Their food comes in large portions and good to share and have perfect flavor fusions. We all loved it! (And this is why we went back again). The food does take some time in coming through though, so make sure you have at least 2 hours for your meal before planning something else. Waiters and the restaurant manager are very helpful and always cheerful!

Perfect Sunday lunch

Highly recommended, very stylish bistro, excellent location near the Marina and set around the old castle/carob mill museum as part of a group of restaurants catering for different cuisines. Service was good (forgot one dessert but we were so full it didn’t matter!), great menu choices and good portion size. As a group we had a variety of salads to start, the one with the halloumi in filo pastry was excellent. Main meal for me was the lobster ravioli, absolutely delicious as was the king prawn spaghetti for my partner. Definitely worth a visit, this bistro lives up to its reputation.

A dish of 31 euro included prefried chips. How embarrassing for a country which produces the best fresh potatoes in the world. If restaurants want to charge you for one dish 31 euro at least they should offer you some decent fresh fries with that. At least...

All Going So Well, But...

A trip to Limassol Old Town on Monday, which has clearly suffered through the pandemic, but we went a few times during our holiday and it does get very busy in the evening. Dinner was at Artima Bistro, which is clearly shooting for high end dining and has prices to match. The welcome is pleasant and we sat outside which filled up nicely during our visit; inside remained pretty empty though. The menus are printed, which was certainly a great start. Everywhere else we went they were accessed via a QR code. This is an Italian restaurant and we opted for starters of: Seared foie gras and King prawns with asparagus. Mains were the Lobster tagliatelle and an Angus rib-eye. You also get plenty of little extras like a good selection of breads and an amuse-bouche of Tomato Gazpacho. Quite lovely. The starters were great, my wife's King prawns were quite delicious and served in a rich garlic butter sauce. My Foie gras was nice but a little less successful than the prawns. The big disappointment was my Rib eye which was anaemic looking and lacking in any real taste. It was pretty rare as I'd requested but it was poorly executed and I doubt they cooked it in butter. It had no gloss to it, really unappetising and tasteless. Not helped by warmed up raw veg, I would not describe these as al dente because these really were very raw. The mash too was lacking flavour and the Béarnaise sauce was served cold. I prefer it warm or hot but, It at least had flavour. Luckily my wife's Lobster tagliatelle was excellent and certainly looked the part on the plate and tasted fab. Overall then it was a meal of mixed experiences but we enjoyed the location, beside the castle, friendly service and the restaurants atmosphere. For this two course à la carte, Prosecco, wine and coffee, we paid £123 or £62 a head. I'd come back but I'd order something other than a steak. It's a shame but my wife had a really good meal, so not all bad.

A more appetizing menu description than the actual dishes

It WAS always the place to invite colleagues and clients since food quality and service standards WERE excellent and mainly stable. Used to be a value for money restaurant with friendly staff and very good service, at an exceptional location, mainly for our international clients, as it is right next to the Medieval castle of Limassol. They have now ended-up having just the location, with below average food quality and service! Last time we visited, was the absolute disappointing and "officially" our last one. We've shared the Goat cheese and Halloumi salads. A 10/10 choice with interesting combination of tastes. Our choice of main included Mushroom tartuffo penne which was good, and the stuffed chicken with commandaria sauce and risotto. The epitome of disappointment, with a fairly 2/10. Both the chicken and risotto were not at a temperature to be served, and all these with a way below average serving staff.

€24 for a pasta dish?? Good food but not excellent and certainly overpriced!

During the last 7-8 years I have visited Artima a few times and I noticed that it went from being a very good restaurant to an ok but overpriced restaurant. Was there a few nights ago and paid €24 for a pasta with seafood dish and €17.90 for a goat cheese salad. The salad was good but the pasta had too much cream in it and was heavy. I noticed that the prices have gone up and I think that paying €24 for a pasta dish on a country that many people make €800-1000 per month. I will have second thoughts about returning there…

We have been visiting Cyprus for years now and Artima is always on the list of must visit restaurants. The food, service and surroundings are always lovely. On our most recent visit (September 2021) we sat outside and were served by Jadwiga, the service was fantastic! The food, really really great! A top Italian restaurant for a reasonable price (compared to the UK). Some may say the prices are high for Cyprus but the quality of food is unmatched and the portions are huge! The chocolate soufflé dessert was to die for! No doubt on my next visit to Cyprus we will be back!

Not what I was expected

Nice place to be but the food wasn't as good as it could be. If you go to a such beautiful and expensive restaurant you expect a meal much more than an average one. The rib eye stake was less than average , the pork filet was just a piece of meat, there was only one kind of non alcohol beer to choose from! The other friends left their food in their plates but I did not ask them why, as I was the one who invited them. The place is very well designed with comfortable corner sofas and chairs in beautiful colours and the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing.

Very bad service and food quality.

We waited for about 90 minutes between appetizers and main course. Food quality was below average. The main course was served cold for 3 of the 6 main dishes we ordered which made it tasteless. Nothing like the experience we had at this place before. The service was also very poor. Waitress was very ironic when we asked for an update on our order.

Reasonably priced for the quality (£50 a head for 4 people including a £100 lobster meal (which you can split between two)). Note: portion sizes are very generous! Definitely get your money’s worth here. Fantastic service from the staff also!

Lovely restaurant next to the castle

This restaurant is part of the Carob Mill Group of restaurants many of which are found by Limassol castle. Menu is varied and sushi is on the menu as well as soup, salad, chicken, fish which are more traditional dishes although with a modern twist. Staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and wines and atmosphere was relaxed. We visited twice and would definitely go back- food is tasty and delicious and setting is perfect.

WELL ABOVE AVERAGE - rather pricy.

Went for dinner 2 weeks ago (2 couples) and enjoyed everything. Tasty salads to start, pasta al-dente and for main courses fish or steak. Excellent red and white wines from mainland Greece. Desserts ....to die for! Of course we will keep going - another plus the fact that the menu is enriched quite continuously.

Excellent by All Accounts!

Classy yet casual! Excellent for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We were a group of 7 for dinner and ordered a variety of starters and for main dishes fish, steak and their famous beef cheeks! Everything was excellent…well presented and prepared…the service was very efficient and attentive throughout. There is also a formidable dessert list (pavlova recommended!), and an extensive wine selection. Prices are on the high side but justified by the quality, portion size and general presentation. Always book in advance as this is a very popular restaurant.
