On our recent trip to Cyprus we dined at the Art Cafe a couple of times as we have done for many years, and we received the usual great service. Our selected meals were top class and the pork cutlets we enjoyed one evening were...the nicest we had ever tasted. The wine, beer and spirits list must be the most comprehensive in Larnaca.
Just read a review stating that it could do with a refurb. I think they are missing the point of what the decor is all about, it is meant to be old fashioned and filled with antique decorations and a wonderful eclectic mix of art, old photos and posters.
Keep up the good work Mario's and Maria and we will meet again next year.
Over time nice place for having a beer or food with friends..
Offering a variety of local and international beers..combos and platters could be richer as they are for combanies..
Music could be not so loud and smoking could allowed only in some areas because...place is too closed..
Also could be renovated after so many years although it seems to be in an old maybe preservative-listed house..
Except the above is still a nice place for locals and visitors in the town of Larnaca and offering a choice for small groups of friends and youngsters..
Reservation is recommended..More
I found this restaurant via your reviews
And we were not disappointed, the food ambulance service everything was perfect.
The owners are on site and that makes all the difference, and they are rightly proud of there business.
I can’t recommend this quirky restaurant highly...enough you must come and try the local cuisine it’s all delicious.
We visited after friends recommended & we were not disappointed very unusual place with art work & antiques on display.food a little different , starters a bit expensive but mains very reasonable excellent service by Maria the owner & her staff I had spicy meat...balls with potatoes & veg, there were 3 large meatballs very tasty nice to have meals without chips, my husband had Tavas the meat was very tender & tasty with potatoes & veg we really enjoyed our meals & they were not too big , good quality.we also had a nice Dry Rose wine . It was a very relaxing atmosphere & nice & cosy , will definitely go back in the summerMore
We were looking for something more authentic than many of the beach restaurants and Art Cafe was just that. The upstairs dining area is eclectic and the hospitality warm. It helped that the hosts had a strong Australian connection. Lovely food and wine served in...a very relaxed fashionMore
I visited the place by myself after I had read the reviews and since it was very close to my hotel. The place is indeed so unique! Great atmosphere & decoration, home-made food, variety of wines even by the glass, and excellent music (jazz, rock...& blues). Friendly hosts and very good service. The bar downstairs also looked very cozy! Sure I will be back when I visit Larnaca again in the future!More
Probably the best service and food I've had. The staff are the most kindest people you can come across with their honest and cheerful personality. Situated on a very quiet road it gives the feeling as you're in la meres Paris.
The perfect restaurant you...can go to for a romantic meal out !!!!!More
With the restaurant upstairs the food was good.
The lamb fricasse special was very tasty, also the pork with cumin from the oven.
Cypriot Wine and a nice Jazz Soundtrack to your dinner.
The decor is very eclectic & fascinating at the same time.
The...downstairs bar has over 100+ whiskeys & a similar amount of beers : plus rock music relaxes the jazz upstairs.
A cool place that wouldn’t be out of place in London or Prague or Paris.
We went 2x during our trip to Larnaka.More
