This was a brilliant find while we were on holiday at the nearby Vuni Palace Hotel, it was recommended to us by friends. It is a 10 min walk from the hotel and is well worth it. We went there for three nights running, the service is very good with friendly staff and the selection of food excellent. It has a Turkish/Cypriot menu leaning towards the western palate, which is great if you want to sample all the local cuisine and at the same time know what you are going to get. We had various meals over the three days and can thoroughly recommend the chicken with BBQ and soy sauce, chicken with creamy mushroom sauce and the burgers and kebabs, all served with rice, chips, salad etc, the desserts are amazing and the drink selection good. Complimentary starters of dips and warm pitta bread are served as well. Each night we went there our bill came to the equivalent of ÂŁ22 for three people with three mains, three desserts and drinks so it is excellent value for money. They take Turkish Lira and Euro's and would probably have taken British pounds like most places in Northern Cyprus as well, although we didn't ask. My only one slight criticism would be that the chairs are a bit uncomfortable, we sat on them the first night but the other two nights we managed to sit on the padded bench seats against the wall which were far more comfy. Would thoroughly recommend.

Easy location to find, broad choice of menu options. The food was good and the service excellent! Lovely decor, whilst on a main road when you go into the main outdoor dining area they’ve created a wonderful garden with many authentic Cypriot features. Nicely done!
We were served by Sayem who was so very helpful especially as I have a number of food intolerances. He guided me on what I could have and offered to have made a GF wrap… I was so excited!! A fresh, homemade GF wrap that tasted incredible! Most restaurants didn’t even try to help so I shall be going back here many times before our holiday ends!! They will adapt and accommodate for GF and Vegans those amazing pide and lahmacuns and much more! See you again soon Saydam and thank you!!

We returned after a couple of years absence due to problems with food.
Pleased to say that we enjoyed our food this time - had filo pastry cigars filled with cheese - tasty - and then Lamb Donner in pita - again very nice.
We ordered Harisa paste to go with Donner and they also served home made pickles.
Very efficient service and nice chat with owners son

We have been before and always had a great meal BUT this time we had to return both main courses as EVERYTHING was stone cold - starting with the plate - then the meat, the rice and the chips !!!
The management had the audacity to try and blame the fan which was at least 3m away from our table !!!!!
The problem was that the meal had been prepared whilst we ate our starters and left to die on the pass.
So very sad - they did comp both meals but we had gone with expectations that simply weren’t met.
Not sure we will return on our next visit to Girne as this was one of the highlights of our visits

Came in around 9pm on a Sunday night so maybe not the finest hour. Polite staff, family of 5 weren’t that hungry so we ordered lentil soups and a chicken shish, along with a 1 meze and some other starters. Pidé was stone cold, soup was burnt, bulgur kofte stodgy and wet, meze had 5 olives! Chips were over fried and soggy with oil. We had ordered takeaway lahmacun a few nights earlier and it arrived soggy and undercooked also. Been here many times before over the yrs and always liked it but we won’t be going ever again. Bill came and they’d added the drinks from another table. Some of this maybe down to being late on a Sunday but not acceptable quality of food.

The menu was extremely poor and the quality was even poorer.
They also charge more for a bottle of Doluca wine than 5 star hotels. There was no price on the menu and presumed that in a roadside cafe type restaurant that the wine would be reasonably priced. The arrogant young female who was in charge of the establishment attempted to justify the price due to her suppliers!
Considering there is a supermarket opposite selling it at 70 Turkish lira and all other higher class establishments charging 230- 250 her charging 350 is totally unacceptable. Take heed don’t be caught out and avoid.
We don’t know if the restaurant has changed hands but we have pre- Covid enjoyed several meals in this establishment. However we have had our last one!

Hello ! Thank you for taking your time and writing a unique comment like this for the establishment. However I believe (that is only my opinion) calling this a robbery might not be very correct since WE ARE PEOPLE SERVING TO PEOPLE in exchange of a service fee which cannot be compared of how much a bottle costs in a shop and at our workplace. Again dont get me wrong that is my opinion. On the other hand you could just ask for a wine list or a drinks menu to see our prices. Thank you very much and we are sorry that you have left disappointed.

Rarely does a meal disappoint as much as this. We ordered the ribeye steak and the lamb chops. Both were incredibly tough….beyond acceptable to be served at a restaurant. I can only suggest the meat was frozen and quickly thawed before cooking. We didn’t finish the meals. Mentioned it to the staff, paid and left. Went across the road to Steak Doner and had a marvellous meal. Alesta Bar…..never again.

First of all, the portions are so small, you won't get full. They even charged you for very simple things that you wanted extra (garlic, parsley, and another bowl of the small salad that came free of charge). There were neither proper roasted peppers, tomatoes, etc., nor salad etc. with the kebab. They don't even bring bread unless you ask for it. If they weren't ashamed, they would even charge him a fee. Also, the service is late and they don't look at the table for a long time. In short, we will never go again and do not recommend!!!

Cannot fault this place. Great service and lovely outdoor garden setting. The food is absolutely amazing and definitely the best kebab meat we’ve ever eaten. Still very reasonably priced too.

Visited Alesta about 5 times on a recent trip to Girne. Nice restaurant, owner and staff friendly. Good range of choices on menu, all we had were tasty and when put to the vote the 3 of us usually voted for Alesta. Would recommend it to anyone.

For me, what appeals about Alesta is the outdoor garden seating area. It's great and must be one of the best terraces in Kyrenia for a quiet and relaxed meal. The food is decent, but there is better for sure if you search other restaurants. That said, I will always come back to Alesta when I'm in Kyrenia because the place is lovely. The ayran is the best I've tasted in TRNC (you can get it in a pint glass and dine like a local).

Lovely food and surroundings. As vegans we find it hard to eat out at restaurants serving local dishes, however Alesta has vegan options on the menu.
The staff were friendly, professional and attentive. Great restaurant for families, couples or friends.

Last time we visited this restaurant was 16 years ago, we went with my parents who lived in the area. Although we had not been back since then, Alesta remembered us, it was lovely coming back, seeing his wife and children.
The restaurant has changed and they have expanded it, but the hospitality hadn’t, we received a warm welcome, food was excellent.
Would highly recommend.
We will be back, I promise I won’t leave it so long.

Have always loved Alesta but today we were very disappointed with our food and drinks. 3 glasses of wine very small measures. Food very average. We went with friends who had never been before and I don't think we'll be going back,

Prices are a bit higher than normal in Cyprus. A beautiful garden for which they charge a lot. We had pide and beer with it. The pide tasted good... but not outstanding. We only went there once a week because it wasn't that cheap by Cyprus standards. Something was missing. The location is of course unbeatable
