For 16 euros/person you can have their full meze which is delicious, freshly prepared, good quality and a lot food!!
Maybe is not the best looking tavern but is nice because you can sit outside, next to a small river! Also, their service is good!
We had a beautiful day in Kakopetria forest picking up wild mushrooms and by lunch time were very hungry.
December is off season in Cyprus, so there are not many places in mountains that open and serve lunch.
We dropped into Riviera restaurant and to...our surprise it was open, but we were the only visitors at the time and were hartly greeted by Pambos who served table and prepared tasty meal.
Wild trout and lamb chops were excellent, service fast and friendly, place warm and cosy, price/quality very good. Highly recommend for visit, especially in winter.More
It's a beautiful place to eat Cyprus barbecue, traditional souvla! It's near Troodos, 2-3 kms after Kakopetria (if you are coming from Nicosia otherwise it's 2-3 kms before Kakopetria village if you are coming from Limassol or Troodos square.
We've been coming to this place regularly over the last 5 years and have never been disappointed. Very tasty food, good sized portions at very reasonable prices. They provide a good selection of local dishes and grilled meat. You will not be disappointed. Staff is...very friendly.More
I used to love this restaurant and brings me memories from my childhood.
This time however we were fully disappointed. Probably because it was overcrowded, difficult to park our car and at first we thought to drive off and forget the whole thing.
We did...a mistake to stick there, and we regretted it. We could understand the delay in serving us, but I cannot forgive the quality of the food we had. We asked for the bill and they returned after 15 minutes of having us waiting. Even the quality of the bread was not what used to be, the quality and taste of meat, the fish raw dip this time was not homemade, even the salad was not that fresh. Avoid weekends!More
Came here with 3 fellow cyclists before smashing the climb up to mount olympus. We got the mixed grill and sheftaliers - both great quality and loads of food. The owner was also very nice and knowledgeable about his cooking. Would come here again!
Delicious Cyprus food, excellent food/price ratio, tasty sweets at the end. Pampos (owner) is a delightful person who is concerned about his customers! Always the place to visit for food when in the area!
Kakoperia was once the place to go with its restaurants hidden away in the conifers.
I am sorry to say that the Riviera served what is probably the worst meal I ever had in Cyprus.
We specially went there on a Sunday for the souvla....We ordered some starters of Tahini, taramosalata and zazigi.
The Tahini was ok but the other two were shamefully poor in quality. Very oily and runny tarama and odd taste zazigi.
We then had the Lamb and chicken souvla.
Well, where do i start with that.
The chicken souvla tasted as if it was first boiled and finished off on the charcoal. The lamb had hardly any meat on it and what there was it was dry and no flavour.
I should have guest from the start that this restaurant had no pride in what they served just by the quality of the bread.
It was sliced run of the meal white dough which is only good for pig food.
What happened to the good village bread which is so nice that you eat half a loaf before the food?
What happened to the hone made taramosalata that is like thick cream and full of flavour?
The other guests were groups of elderly folk on day trips.
Obviously Riviera has got used to serving such substandard food to these poor people and got no complaints from them they think it's ok for everyone else.
Shame on you Riviera just shame. You not only let yourselves down but also your village and the cypriate cuisine.More
