This pub has been transformed by its new management and new chef, A very enterprising menu, very friendly service. And for food of this quality, good value. The pub itself is a bit cramped when busy, but the outside tables to the rear and sides of the building are very pleasant. We had the Red Thai Duck Curry and Pan... More

Booked last minute. First meal i have eaten there. It was as expected very busy for a small pub. About 10 tables inside with tables out side also. Lovely old building circa 1430. Two lovely roast beef dinners. Beef perfectly cooked. Generous portions. Followed with the best Eaton mess we have had. Absolutely delicious. Add to that they serve Aspel... More

Lovely old pub which is great for a drink and very atmospheric. Came late Sunday lunchtime. Was busy and we hadn't booked so long wait after we ordered was understandable. Had to clear outside tables ourselves. We were told there was no children's menu - friend asked for simple cheese sandwiches for her girls - a tiny single round of... More

Lunch with a friend, able to sit and eat outside. Wonderful setting and the pub has fantastic character that comes from 600 years of history. Very good pint, good lunchtime menu, very pleasant people behind the bar. Will be back soon.

We came here again yesterday, for the second time and I have to say not only is the pub really lovely with loads of character but it has a really nice outdoor area with stunning views. The food is superb with both my granny and husband commenting that the fish was the freshest they'd ever eaten and it was huge!... More

My friend and I stopped off here for an evening meal after visiting the nearby Bluebell Railway. It is full of character with good food.

We chose The Hatch to entertain Australian relatives because of the situation and traditional interior. We have been there several times for lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. This visit was no exception. Everything is produced on the premises from mainly local produce and reflects seasonality. Our guests loved the pub and were very impressed by the food.... More

A small country pub with not too many tables, so book in advance! Visit their web site to see an example menu. We both had home made Asparagus soup to start, and the quality of the cooking showed in the excellent flavour. The steak I had as a main was succulent, cooked as I had asked with good flavour. My... My husband and I used to eat regularly at the Hatch Inn several years ago when we lived in Sussex. Had a wonderful meal here three weeks ago and it was a wonderful trip down memory lane. Excellent food, the pub is just the same, small and intimate. The pub staff are fantastic. Extremely efficient, helpful and friendly. Easy to... More
