We have been coming to the Hatch at least weekly since moving to Colemans Hatch 18 years ago and it has always been a terrific traditional country pub (no TV, no machines, dogs warmly welcomed...) with well kept Harvey's, a good menu and very congenial...More

Stopped by today on the way home from a dog walk, staff were very friendly service was great, they were also quick to supply water for our dogs. Had a drink & a lovely light lunch in the sunshine. Would definite pop passed again.

Love this little haven on the forest. Always greeted by friendly staff and the kitchen continuously serves the best food that I've had in a pub for years . For me it's a bit of a trek to treat as a "local" as I'm not...More

We sat at a table in the garden and went indoors to order food. The barmaid insisted I should provide the table number before taking my order. This would have been fair enough if she had a civil tone but her surly manner left a...More

We went to The Hatch in April and had an enjoyable meal and wonderful service. I therefore booked a table for 8 for a celebration meal in early June. What a change. The service was beyond slow. We arrived just after 8.30 pm and when...More

Service inattentive and indifferent. Lamb was chewy and not particularly tasty. The “Jus” was gravy. The swordfish was nice but a potatoe option should have been included. Got fed up waiting for a drink so went to the bar. Would have like to stay for...More

Well, I use the pub weekly. I'm always disappointed by the septic tank. Even in the winter it kicks up a Foul odour. For my next gripe. A busy pub in the country in the summer needs it's garden. The small garden with the views...More

We always eat here at least once when we're in the UK and not without reason. The pub is in a great location on Ashdown Forest so it's often best to ring first if you wish to eat. The traditional dishes are well prepared, served...More

My first visit here and it was not a disappointment! A really friendly welcome backed up with superb service. Great to see the local Larkins Ale on sale, a beautiful pint. I also noticed an excellent wine choice. We chose the Rib Eye Steak, requesting...More
