Great food, traditional hearty plates served in a friendly atmosphere. We had a lovely corner window seat and our waiter was very friendly. You will not leave hungry.

If, like us, you prefer to try traditional local food when visiting a new country, then this is the place to go. The waiter was really helpful and also Google to work out what everything was. We had read a review which said the portions...were large, and yes they are. Knowing this, we shared the traditional starter, a famous soup/stew which was delicious. The mains were big, I had to finish my wife's, but really good. We were too full for dessert. The wine list was good also, but we decided to try various beers instead.More

Had a business dinner with my team here and enjoyed it very much. To start, the wine selection is amazing. We decided to go for a Grand Cru wine from Saint-Emilion. My colleague started with the frog legs as a starter, I myself went for...the Quiche Lorraine. Both were very good. For mains we both had the schnitzel, which was Wiener art and in this case turkey. Having just returned from Vienna, it was 'different' and maybe not completely comparable. Yet it tasted good. The served who served us were very friendly and internationally focused. We had a nice chat with them and about Luxemburg. All in all I can very recommend this restaurant.More

My husband and I had lunch twice in this nice restaurant. We enjoyed eating the Luxembourg typical food. The waiters Vera, Artur were very attentive as well the owner. We enjoyed eating in a restaurant that the locals go.

pros: - good looking interior. neat and clean - friendly staff - good beer choice cons: - the Schnitzel was too dry - other dishes like Wäinzoossiss, gromperenzalot and Kniddelen are not worth the high prices.More

Not sure what was going tonight but we’ve been to this restaurant before and it wasn’t this bad. The service this evening was very bad and instead of paying attention to our table, time was spent socializing with friends sharing a dessert behind us (??)...We waited a long time to order our meals and again to order more drinks. The meals were OK and were missing an accompaniment such as other food on the plate aside from a sad piece of cordon bleu that my husband received. When I asked where the rest was, I was told to sit down!!. We will never be back!!!More

This is very authentic French, German Luxembourg resto. Of you’re looking for local authentic cuisine in this city, this is the one. Portions are big, you can share.

This family run rustic restaurant exists for decades and is a safe haven for locals as well as for tourists. Friendly welcome in a cramped and noisy restaurant where guests come to enjoy good local food and drinks for a correct price. It is not...a wannabe place for wannabe people.... but a very good restaurant serving huge portions for hungry people :) I recommend the "Filet de boeuf"/Beef filet mignon with creamy green pepper sauce, the "Scampis à l'armoricaine"/Prawns in a spicy tomato sauce are also excellent. Nice white wine from Luxembourg (Riesling). Also freshly tapped Lux. beer..... At noon they have a "menu du jour"/lunch special for an unbeatable price/quality ratio. Check their website. Reservations are a must.More

Enjoyed the food at Um Dierfgen with the family. The menu is very local and the prices could be lower. However, you get quality food, so in the end we didn't mind to pay a bit extra.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. I came with the intention of trying the national dish, Judd mat Gaardebounen, and was not disappointed. It was delicious. The service was excellent and the restaurant very cosy and refined. But the big plus is how accommodating they were...to my vegan partner. She was initially going to select a few sides, but without even asking, the waiter offered to check with the kitchen what they could do. What we got was a very well executed vegan dish that proved truly satisfying. Highly recommended!More

Great food. We had a really nice dinner at Um Dierfgen. We got the soup of the day, the horse steak with garlic and onion sauce and the grilled sausage with mustard sauce. Everything was tender and tasty. The sauces complimented the protein very nicely....The only negative was that my side salad was over dressed. We really enjoyed our meal overall.More

I gave this place a few chances because of all the great reviews and a genuine interest in experiencing Luxembourgish cuisine. However, I was disappointed regardless of the food choice I made. Food is pretty bland and I did not enjoy the horse meat which...made me pretty sick the evening I had it. Maybe it isn't for everyone. It certainly isn't for me. Nor was it well-received by handful of people who joined me in my dining experiences there.More

I was in Ville Haute and wanted to find a place with traditional Luxembourgish food and found this restaurant. I'm really glad I went. It's a few blocks from the busy Place D'Armes, so it's not quite as loud, busy, or tourist-focused as some of...the restaurants there. The staff were all very friendly and the food was excellent. I had the Kniddelen mat Speck (flour dumplings) and Bohnensuppe (green bean soup) and they were both very good. The portion was quite big, so prepare to leave full. They had quite a few other traditional Luxembourgish foods on their menu (as well as non-Luxembourgish ones) so I'd definitely come back again.More

Happened upon this place and we snagged the last table for lunch. Lucky us. We sat amongst all locals having a wonderful lunch....both leisure and work. We ordered the • Asparagus with Mousseline Sauce with potatoes and the Judd mat Gaardebounen, (Smoked pork, beans and...potatoes with bacon). Neither of us had either dish and both were absolutely wonderful The White Asparagus with the Mousseline sauce was something like we have never had and we have had many, many dishes of white asparagus as white asparagus season is a reason for us to travel I just had to have the Judd mat Gaardebounen. It was something like I have never had, well neither of us had ever had. And it was wonderful I just kept eating it because it was good and I had never had anything like it. Service was great. Atmosphere was cozy. Prices were reasonable. And will definitely return. Recommend reservations. •More
