We had friends visit here just a month ago, so we decided to have our last dinner in Malta here. It was our wedding anniversary. The view is amazing because the restaurant is at the very top of Valetta, facing west to the marina, so the sunset is lovely. Sit outside if you can. We did not request a table... More

Definitely one of the top 5 restaurants in Malta. Fantastic food / a well planned dining room and a balcany with a view of Marsamxett harbour beneath. Value for money and will definitely be paying more visits. Highly recommendable for couples.

This is such a great restaurant to enjoy fresh fish and the views of the harbor! The chef personally came to the table to discuss the fish selection for the day, and it was delicious! I made sure to sit by the window and enjoy the scenery.

My husband booked this restaurant to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary, as you walk in the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the gentleman behind the bar was very friendly and called upstairs to say that we had arrived but in the mean time he asked us if we would like a drink which we did and sat down in lovely... We were seated in the balcony and immediately the host explained what specialities for the evening. Both of us had starters and local fresh fish complimented with a bottle of chablis! Pity that the view for that particular evening was zero visibility but the atmosphere and the service was unimaginable. I consider this restaurant as one of the finest for... More

We visited this lovely restaurant last night for the first time. The prawn carpaccio with ricotta was impressive. After we had a sea bream cooked al cartoccio which was lovely. Ended with a brilliant Baileys tiramisu. Lovely dinner with spectacular views and top service. To return soon again.

Giannini a family run business since 1988 is an excellent place to have lunch or dinner when visiting Valletta. The restaurant is situated above St. Michael's bastions with vast views of Manoel Island and the pretty Marsamxetto Harbour. The third floor of a typical Malta townhouse, reached by lift from the ground floor lounge bar, has been converted into a delightful restaurant. Giannini tends to be popular with locals for business lunches and romantic dinners giving it a casual but discreet atmosphere. The cuisine is a delicious blend of Mediterranean food. Fresh fish is available daily (ask the host) and you should also consider the daily specials such as the pastas scribbled on the board. The a la carte menu changes according to season with the current options for starters including carpaccio of octopus, risottos and fresh seashells amongst others. Mains include roasted lamb, local rabbit, pan seared duck breast and daily fresh fish and fresh angus beef. The a-la-carte menu is attached next to Giannini's contact details above. A rather comprehensive wine list is also available to complement the meal.
