Honestly, we went earlier in the week to Ion (with a star in the Michelin guide) and this matched the experience but in a different way. Atmosphere, customer focus, buzz from other guest, fabolus dishes, and absolutely lovely cousins. I highly recommend and will return!

Food is average. The arrogant attitude of woman took our order was very unpleasant. And, we had to wait for over half an hour since order. We will not go again and could not recommend to my friends.

I sure understand why this place is crowded! Good maltese food, homemade style, big portions and nice traditional flavours. I ate one of the best octopus stew ever in a restaurant (I'm from Portugal and we eat a lot of it here) so... congratulations! All...the waiters were nice, too. When you're visiting Malta, try to come to Ta'Kris.More

Dined here on Friday 8th July, which was our 11th Wedding anniversary. Faultless staff, huge portions and great tasting food. I had snails Maltese style followed by beef stew Maltese style and both were exceptional. My wife ate Bragioli, stuffed beef rolls in wine. SUPERB...food at very reasonable prices. Well recommended. Thank you Ta'Kris .... Gary.More

Tucked away in a narrow alley, this charming restaurant with a very friendly and courteous staff was another great find. There were several tasty, traditional Maltese options. All of our meals were served as generous portions with reasonable pricing. Our family really enjoyed this dining...experience.More

I was in Malta for 5 days in April and the food here was so good we had to make sure we ate here twice. The restaurant was bustling both days despite it not yet being “high season”, the first night we were asked to...wait 20 minutes which we did not mind doing as there are many bars close by to pass the time, the second night the main waitress managed to squeeze us in as a reservation had not turned up, and she recognised us from earlier in the week, but did see many people get turned away, so I would recommend booking in advance especially in summer months. The food did not disappoint, on both nights my partner and I shared a starter of octopus and a dessert of cheesecake. For mains we both opted for traditional rabbit stew the first night and the second night I had the chef special of a seafood platter of 4 different fish fillets and my boyfriend had the steak. We were delighted with both meals. I think both meals came to around €70 euros all together including a bottle of wine which we found incredibly reasonable for the middle of Sliema and the quality of the food. There was also complimentary bread and olive tapenade both nights, and a limoncello aperitif after dinner. The staff on both nights were so friendly and accommodating and the ambiance of the restaurant was bustling and lively, with a mix of Maltese people and tourists alike. This place will be top of my list for everyone I hear going to Malta in future and I’m hoping I can revisit again myself soon!More

Me and my fiance ate here several times during our stay in Malta, and it turned out to be one of my favorite restuarants overall. Its a very nice place with character in the middle of Sliema. The staff is very kind and always went...out of their way to make it a perfect dining experience. The food was very delicious, with a great selection of dishes to choose from. I would recommend to take something from their "specials menu", we did this twice and it was absolutely perfect. All in all a very good restaurant that everyone should try when in Malta. Just a heads up, if you dine late in the evening, I would advice you to book a table in advance so you make sure that you actually get a sit, this place is very popular!More

First of all, I showed here without a reservation, but although there were a lot of empty tables, for all the short duration of my visit there, they could have lied and not accepted me, so thank you for that, because I was very hungry...and was able to eat! That being said, I was just one person, looking for a normal quality food, to eat and leave. I was directed at the end internal place of the restaurant when the tables that were by the door were empty, and remained empty as long as I stayed and ate, until the moment I left. I am mentioning this, because since in Malta there is no mandatory use of the mask anymore, I prefer to eat outside to feel on the safe side (as possible that may be) of covid. Anyway, I asked about those tables and one of the 2 blonde abrupt ladies told me that those were reserved for clients (again, I don't know the time of the reservation, but no-one showed for as long as I was there). She said in a steep way, to choose which one of the 2 tables she was showing me, like saying, (without saying), or leave. I chose, sat, the other blonde lady came for the order, in a very annoyed cold way, explained quickly the plates of the day and left so fast, I didn't get the chance to order, and needed to wait for the second time she decided to come back, as she didn't let me talk the first time and order the fish plate she had just presented. The fish was good, a fillet of 3 different local fishes, but it had bones which I didn't expect it to have as she missed to inform me. It's a good thing I am afraid of fish bones and ate carefully when I started discovering them. So, to sum up, although the fish was good and nicely cooked, the owners? behaviour was so bad, I would not go back there or recommend it to anyone else. The last thing that I want when eating dinner is for impolite, abrupt people to ruin it with their behaviour and attitude. It was a bad experience. The only polite people there, serving, were the helpers, who were obviously foreigners and not owners. Having eaten in a lot of places all over the world and even in peak hours I haven't encountered this attitude. There is a difference between an impolite attitude and stress that not many people can distinguish. I don't know if in my case it was that I showed up solo, and they thought I wouldn't make a big check or what, but even at the other tables, these 2 ladies were serving, they may have had slightly the abrupt attitude I experienced, at least they made an effort to keep the pretexts by saying 'thank you' and 'goodnight'. I didn't even get a hello.More
