First of all, I showed here without a reservation, but although there were a lot of empty tables, for all the short duration of my visit there, they could have lied and not accepted me, so thank you for that, because I was very hungry...and was able to eat!
That being said, I was just one person, looking for a normal quality food, to eat and leave. I was directed at the end internal place of the restaurant when the tables that were by the door were empty, and remained empty as long as I stayed and ate, until the moment I left. I am mentioning this, because since in Malta there is no mandatory use of the mask anymore, I prefer to eat outside to feel on the safe side (as possible that may be) of covid.
Anyway, I asked about those tables and one of the 2 blonde abrupt ladies told me that those were reserved for clients (again, I don't know the time of the reservation, but no-one showed for as long as I was there).
She said in a steep way, to choose which one of the 2 tables she was showing me, like saying, (without saying), or leave.
I chose, sat, the other blonde lady came for the order, in a very annoyed cold way, explained quickly the plates of the day and left so fast, I didn't get the chance to order, and needed to wait for the second time she decided to come back, as she didn't let me talk the first time and order the fish plate she had just presented.
The fish was good, a fillet of 3 different local fishes, but it had bones which I didn't expect it to have as she missed to inform me. It's a good thing I am afraid of fish bones and ate carefully when I started discovering them.
So, to sum up, although the fish was good and nicely cooked, the owners? behaviour was so bad, I would not go back there or recommend it to anyone else.
The last thing that I want when eating dinner is for impolite, abrupt people to ruin it with their behaviour and attitude. It was a bad experience.
The only polite people there, serving, were the helpers, who were obviously foreigners and not owners.
Having eaten in a lot of places all over the world and even in peak hours I haven't encountered this attitude. There is a difference between an impolite attitude and stress that not many people can distinguish.
I don't know if in my case it was that I showed up solo, and they thought I wouldn't make a big check or what, but even at the other tables, these 2 ladies were serving, they may have had slightly the abrupt attitude I experienced, at least they made an effort to keep the pretexts by saying 'thank you' and 'goodnight'.
I didn't even get a hello.More
