This is the place to visit if you want to eat like the locals. We came here for pastizzi two mornings in a row. My favorite was the peas, but my husband loved the cheese: all for 0.50 each! Can't beat it. Great food for...on the go and very filling with just two pastizzi.More

We sampled the pastizzi here while walking around Rabat. They were just amazing. We had one filled with cheese and peas and some sort of meat and another with cheeses. It is worth seeking this place out (it is not far from St. Paul's catacombs)....You can get them to take away or eat at the place. There is outdoor seating there.More

They have the best Pastizzi!! 10/10, and the attention the best!! I personally recommend the Ricotta one :) And you can come directly from Mdina

Small place with a special atmosphere. Great for Pastizzi (local traditional pies ) or Ftira (bread type pizza). Some locals inside, who kindly talk with you while they discuss about their things. Prices are cheap and good option for some grab-on-the-go food. Quality OK, they...take out your pastizzi straight away from the oven. I definitely recommend to stopby and try some of their specialties!More

We were really looking forward to trying Crystal Palace as we had seen a couple of YouTube vids where they were recommended for pastizzi. As there are so many pastizzerias in Malta, you kinda think, well they have gotta be quite something! When we turned...up after visiting Mdina, crowds had died down a bit, so we managed to get a seat indoors. Ordered a chicken and an anchovy pastizzi as well as a ricotta qassata, and a glass of tea. It was really cool seeing them grab the pastries fresh from the oven trays on the side. We arrived at the right time as it wasn't long before a queue of customers formed, some of whom were school children, and others getting bulk buys and frozen stuff to take away. Sadly, the experience didn't live up to our expectations. The pastizzi pastry was crisp as it should be but a bit hard and chewy in others, as if overcooked. They were also alot greasier than others we had tried. The fillings were also disappointing - couldn't really taste the chicken or the anchovy as they seemed to have been padded out with peas or other stuff. The ricotta qassata wasn't bad - it was very dense, well-filled and very filling. We paid €2.80 which was great value. Crystal Palace obviously has its fans and must be doing something right, but the pastizzi were sadly not to our taste which was a huge disappointment after the heightened expectations!More

From outside it doesn't look too fancy but inside you can get the best pastizzi ever! They are super strongly filled with chicken, ricotta, peas or anchois.

The best - that' true . What's more - it's a normal place where locals jump into for some coffee and sth sweet. You can't miss it.

Rabat is reallocation nice walking around. Then yo7 visit L Mdina and then you finish the trip with a. Ice pastizzi at the Crystal Palace. Then you find it so good and you regret you didn’t buy more pastizzi for later. Wha5 do you do?...Of course, you go back next day (that’s what we did LOL). In other words, eat one and bye one more for later.More

Best maltese streetfood. Great freshly baked pastizzi (three types: with peas, ricotta or chicken) and qassata (with peas or ricotta), all sold while still hot, straight from the oven. Very cheap - 0.40-0.50€ for pastizzi and 1€ for qassata. I especially recommend the chicken pastizzi,...absolutely amazing! Pea pastizzi is also delicious. Ricotta one would be on third place. :-) There is a long queue of locals there for a reason - this is how we discovered this place. Coffee is mediocre, it's better to get it from the ice cream parlor next door. Protip for tourists: there is a souvenir shop on the corner, worth checking out, great choice and good prices.More

Perfection. It’s a goodness for a ridiculous price. We went back three times. Take one cheese and on pea pastizzi and top it with one qassatat. Sit outside with the local old men and simply enjoy yourself.

Easily the best pastizzi in Malta, worth the trip to Rabat just for that. It's incredible that you can get such bad pastizzis all around the most touristy areas for like 2-3 euros, then this places sells the real deal, beautifully hot, crispy pastizzi with...a creamy mushroom/chicken filling inside... To die for.. Just for 0.50 cents.More

Had one peas and one chicken pastizzi to take away. Very delicious. I’m not surprised it’s got the reputation it has for being best on the island.

Bought a couple of pastizzi this morning: one with peas and one with anchovies. The pastry was too oily, wet and soggy. The anchovies filling was too salty to eat. I threw both of them away. Disgusting. Avoid.

I had in mind that is Serkin was one of the best places to eat a genuine Maltese cheesecake. Went there last Wednesday but was really disappointed. The cheesecakes were literally dripping oil or lard or whatever was in the pastry. Unfortunately it would have...been better if the shop remained the same old 'hanut tal kafe' because with its modernisation and expansion it saw the downfall of its noteworthy cheesecake. Apart from this people were not following the covid 19 regulations as there were more than 2 people inside the shop and no one told them anything.More

There was nothing mentioned on the price list so I doubt it. This seems to be a very traditional establishment and not in keeping with more modern trends.

Think it is pretty much 24/7. Weekends folk come here for a snack after clubbing in early hours.😂
