Went for lunch, though we would have to book but it wasn't that busy. The secret garden had a tranquil and relaxing ambiance, sheltered from the mid-day sun by trees and sun shades. The garden is at the back of the restaurant at rooftop level enclosed by the walls of Mdina. The food and service were first class, not cheap... More

We recently visited this restaurant with our family. It was an extremely hot day in Mdina. We passed some bars and sandwich shops but would like to find some place to have a proper lunch. This place is near the gate but hidden very deeply in the alley. We had a long way to enter then the staff led us... More

Mdina is a wonderful place, not to be missed. The sign outside the Secret Garden invited customers in even if they only want drinks. As we were half board at our hotel we did not meals, so we stopped for drinks. We enjoyed a refreshing glass of Kinnie (a Maltese drink made of oranges and aromatic herbs) under shade in... More

We were hungry the second we got to Mdina, and hubby looked up this restaurant on his phone. It's got very good reviews, so we gave it a try. They have outdoor seating upstairs in "The Secret Garden", with great views and awesome waiters. The food was delicious, albeit a little more expensive than the norm. I think the only... More

My partner convinced me to have a lunch here while we were in Mdina as he really wanted to see the "secret garden" :) The atmosphere is really good, the staff were very very friendly and the food is just divine. We had Carpaccio of Octopus, apple and radish salad, apple jelly / Traditional Aljotta - fresh fish and shellfish... More

We came acroos this by default, having spent hours in Mdina, we just fancied a coffee and cake, we walked down a few steps and it looked as if we were entering a beautiful cellar, a lovely lady met us and walked us through a beautiful huge room and into a stunning garden, we had cakes and coffee, not the... We ate here when visiting madina. It was lovely. The staff were brilliant and friendly. One of the guys made us a malteese platter with different bits on for us to try . They had a great menu to suit all people even down to chips for them that don't like spice and sea food. I highly recommend you find... More

After a hot day walking through Mdina the fantastic location of the terrace gave me the perfect breeze, the freshest salad, the interior of the restaurant is great, like a cavern, and then a hall and then a terrace. Truly great food and location.
