Had our wedding at Bacchus and I would definitely recommend it. Food, venue and service were impeccable. Thanks to Francois and his team our special day was extra special.

One can't deny that our guests, family and friends enjoyed it very much indeed. Needless to say all of them complimented the venue, the decor, the food portions, taste and the presentation. In general we all enjoyed it, we did need to give a push...but it was well handled by the 2 management staff on the floor. Both the F&B manager and the venue manager have done their utmost best to ensure that everything flows well which it did very well indeed. A couple of thibgs that could have been better: - canapés at the start were served on time however some had an empty cocotte with just sauce and some had a samosa and sauce which was as we discussed pre wedding... Thankfully enough our guests did have a laugh about it and moved on - 1 of the main courses (fish) was different than the very 1st tasting (we had 2 tastings 1st was amazing 2nd was just garlic taste) the actual main course served was classified in between) the difference was only noticeable by us (the bride and groom) although the broccoli florettes should have been at least sectioned more rather than having a big broccoli florettes which a few left on the plate. - the dessert was discussed to be lemon sorbet and strawberry sorbet however both myself and the bride were served with a melted dolope of mango sorbet and a scoop of strawberry ice cream that's of course not as discussed.... My wife had to go in the kitchen for the 2nd time (1st was regarding the fish) and ask the waiters however the waiter she asked was not sure what he was even serving therefore she spoke to someone else which then things changed.... This could have been easily avoided... In the end she was then served again, finally with the right order. - lastly, we have agreed and arranged 6 standalone heaters but from the start, 1 of the heaters just had a yellow flame but no heat coming out from it..... If we were told before than we would have planned the positions a little bit different since the 1st 2 tables shared the same heater but in the end they only had a deco heater next to them..... No heat at all... Checked it myself a few times to be sure... Infact the heater was deducted from the final price without any argument which was the right decision from the venue manager. - due to Covid open bar was open but to avoid people standing up it was agreed that all waiters will keep taking orders although at one point there was not even 1 waiter going round which was indicated to the best man and feedback was given and also to the venue manager and withing 1. minute all waiters were back on the floor taking orders... Please note that this is nothing major for an event that started at 1530lt and ended at approx 12 hrs later. The F&B manager was fantastic with communication, keeping the best man and ushers informed about everything and also for his continuous reassurance towards the bride and groom and going the extra mile - Is-Sur Andrew 🙂 The Venue Manager is an amazing tolerable person, takes feedback positively and a very caring person. In my opinion I gained a friend. Is-Sur Francois The both have tried everything they could to have a flawless event which it was kind of.... Just a bit more attention to detail from the staff and experienced staff would have definitely played a big part on this but in all fairness all restaurants and any companies have newbies on the floor and we all need a bit of training and guidance to achieve the best level of service so I am sure that the new staff will be great in no time especially if they are being trained by Andrew and Francois... They all have heart for what they do but some need more time then others... That's everywhere not just at Bacchus. The kitchen staff were great but as discussed on the above notes.... A little more attention to detail would have avoided the bride going into the kitchen to have a word or 2 with the kitchen staff. A huge Big thanks to both Andrew and Francois.... Without them 2 we would have had a disastrous wedding.... They pushed and pushed and also understood what we asked for and they always tried their utmost best..... In the end some of the pre wedding make or break decisions were taken by the owner and not them but from their side they did entirely everything and hats off for Andrew and Francois and of course their team on the floor that day. Well done guys..... I won't be hoping to have another wedding there just because I want a lifetime with my wife but I will most certainly book that anniversary concept table when the time comes... I know I won't be disappointed if both Francois or Andrew are there. Have a good one and thanks so much once again. KBF 🙏😊😁🤗More

Walk down to Bacchus through a lovely secret garden. The restaurant is in an old ammunition storehouse, turned wine cellar, turned restaurant. This is the ideal place to have a long, lazy lunch in Mdina. The menu is Mediterranean, featuring caught that morning fish and...shellfish. You select your fish from a tray of iced varieties brought to your table. All food is beautifully prepared and served. The menu changes according to season. Don't miss Bacchus; it's an exceptional treat. Don't be in a hurry; Bacchus is slow-eating.More

Delicious food and friendly service. I recommend sitting outside on the terrace, such a lovely sunset. The liver parfait is delightful! And as a main I had the sea bass which was also very tasty! Definitely worth a visit!

This review refers to a wedding held at Bacchus on Saturday 17th Oct. The overall service, food quality and logistics were nothing but terrible. The food was served way too late, cold and under-cooked. Alcoholic drinks and soft drinks were never served (with exception of...wine & water) and the service was appalling. We enquired several times with the waiting staff and the manager on duty, and we were repeatedly told that there isn't enough staff to take drinks orders. Upon insisting, we were faced with very rude behaviour and told 'not to ask again'. Needless is to say that such service is unacceptable. I wouldn't expect this from a seaside kiosk let alone from a wedding venue. To add insult to injury, whenever you went to the restroom, you could see some staff members doing absolutely nothing, just chatting with each other. The bride, the groom and the wedding planner were doing their best to address the logistics but the manager on duty was very rude and uncooperative. I personally witnessed an exchange of communication with the newlyweds and I was shocked. In the end, the main dish was served close to 23:00hrs and some of the guests, were never served at all. The newlyweds had to cut the cake whilst most (the lucky ones that were served) of the guests were still eating, their cold and undercooked food. I will never again visit this restaurant and I strongly discourage anyone that's thinking to hold their wedding at this venue.More

Excellent at all aspects! It is elegant restaurant with an enchanting garden. You should dress properly and I know that evenings with 27 degrees are tough but for gentlemen long trousers is a must! I was really grateful for good seating, tasty meals, crispy &...refreshing Maltese wine! Good job!More
