We had a great date dinner. Food was very good (the risotto with prawns and guanciale impressed me because I rarely mix fish and meat in the same dish), but the whole dinner was very good. Pricing: in many other restaurants we would have spent...much more. Well doneMore

Pleasant dinner spent at Tartarun restaurant after a stroll in Marsaxlokk fishing town. The restaurant has a classic design and is all about best seafood , filled with water tanks with lobsters, range of locally caught fresh fish to choose from. Some interesting starters with...a bold use of spices, tasty seabass carpaccio and grilled fish to share for the main.More

Was looking forward to visiting this restaurant, as I’ve heard such great reviews. There was a Variety of food and it was presented well. Good choice of wine. Although the fish soup, wasn’t plentiful of fish and the main course, fish, was served on cold plates...and by the time the waiter filleted it, it was served cold. I would have also appreciated some vegetables with the main. The desserts were delicious.More

We went as a family and we do not regret it. Ambience is very original with a Maltese twist. The service was excellent. The prawn carpaccio was quite unusual and tasty. The pappardelle ai ricci di mare was delicious. Kids are welcome and sure to...find something to their liking.More

Found this lovely restaurant by accident and so glad we did. Only two tables outside, but in the heat, it was lovely to step inside to the lovely cool interior of a very spacious restaurant. The staff were attentive and polite at all times. On...the way in I immediately spotted the lobster tank, so we asked about the lobster. I don't know if the staff thought it would be too pricey for us and offered us large Maltese prawn alternatives, but my husband made a few jokes and assured them that if it was lobster I wanted, it was lobster I should have. They made a selection and brought it to the table and I was happy with the size. It was to be grilled and served with a simple garlic and ginger infused butter and served with new potatoes and a selection of grilled vegetables. My husband decided to go for the daily seafood pasta special. My other half had several beers, whilst I had a bottle of white wine. We chose to visit Marsaxlokk on a Saturday as opposed to a Sunday when the market is there, and while there were quite a few other Maltese families eating (no tourists yet as airport still closed), it was just a nice relaxing atmosphere. All of the other dishes coming out from the kitchen looked fabulous and before long our main dishes were on the table. The lobster was cooked to perfection and I savoured every bite. Hubby was more than happy with his seafood pasta. To follow, he had a cheesecake and I had coffee with a glass of Amaretto. Everything about our visit was very enjoyable, we would recommend and will definitely visit again.More

Wanted to drink coffe first and then decide if we want to stay for a lunch. But the rude lady said that the table is only for lunch so we can not stay for just a coffe. Shame on you. You should be more polite...for a customers, because I will not come back.More

We enjoyed a spectacular lunch at Tartarun. The staff couldn't have been more attentive and we had some of the best, fresh and delicious fish we had ever eaten! Marsalokk is a delightful fishing village with many choices of restaurants and we were certainly not...disappointed with this one right by the harbour! We would love to come back!More

We came for lunch on a Sunday when it seems everyone heads to Marsaxlokk for the market and the atmosphere. It is so crowded that they reroute the buses so the stops are on the edge of town. With a reservation we were given a...window seat, the perfect location for watching the scene and eating a relaxing meal. We started with the mini fish burger and the sashimi. Both were excellent and perfect bites of local seafood. We then had the calamari and risotto. The calamari as excellent. The risotto was full of mushrooms and shrimp and was the best risotto ever. Each of these dishes were listed as “mini bites” and “appetizers” but were plenty for a satisfying lunch. We finished with lemon sorbet. I’m not sure why others complained about the service. Ours was efficient and friendly.More

You can’t get fish any fresher than this! What a lovely little village . The restaurant is right by the harbour. Friendly efficient staff. We chose from the fresh fish and crayfish with a lovely selection of starters ... try the mini fish burgers ......wonderful. The fish soup was stunning too ( keep a little bit to put on your fish) We had red snapper and John Dory both which were wonderful and also a succulent crayfish picked from the tank. The wine list was excellent and extensive. Overall a wonderful mealMore
