One of the best pizzas i've tasted. Pizza base is truly lovely. Ambience is uniquely gozitan. Visiting Toni il furnar is a must !

We visited this restaurant towards the end of our 2 week holiday in Xaghra based on trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed. We loved the location in a quiet street just opposite the museum of toys and it was good to get away from the major construction work currently going on in the square. The food was great home... Situated a couple of hundred metres from the main square in Xhagra, Tal Furnar is a small family run restaurant (and bakery by day), serving typical food of the region. Claiming the oldest (or is it last?) stone oven in Gozo as a selling point (not sure what's actually cooked in it though), we decided to give it a try... More

Lovely restaurant, although it doesn't look it,but don't let that put you off.Tony the host is a great guy and this family run restaurant has a great atmosphere and popular with locals and tourists alike. The wine comes from his own vineyard and is excellent. We have visited this restaurant four times just recently and we haven't been disappointed yet.The food is... More

We followed opening times given by TA. Unfortunately we went there twice during the week and on 2nd time owner told us that hè serves the food only Fri-Sun..we lived close so no problem, but if you follow real day planning not really nice..

Very tasty food and good homemade wines! The place is family run and all of the staff are very kind - they even gave us a complementary fresh bread when we left! The bread is baked in stone oven and is delicious!

We ate here twice and talked with the owners. It is very clear that this is a family run business built over several generations on a passion for good food and wine. The wine is produced from the owner's vineyard - the red and the white are both excellent. We enjoyed garlic bread and tomato conserve, two different Ftira and... More

Admittedly only stopped here by accident, it does not lokk too inviting and is off the main square. Family run with a now unique oven. Huge plates of food arrived, too much to eat despite us hiking most of the day. Great taste. Please use this cafe if you can and see thier oven.

I've just found a nail in my pizza. It's not a joke. Owner said that a nail is from the wood because its real stone oven. Really?? Creepy Never again. So be careful, there is also dirty.

This restaurant is unique in Gozo, Toni is well known preparing the famous Ftira (Pizza base filled with real potatoes & different ingredients freshly prepared). But we prepare their home made menu that his lovely wife & daughter knows best how to lure us every so often with their traditional way of slow cooking dishes. Thank you once again for... More
