My and my husband had a lovely meal here tonight/Sunday Night. Food was lovely... staff was great... they change things on our order and got it right :)... shame there was more staff than customers because I can imagine what a fantastic atmosphere there must be when its busy! Such a lovely place with nice decor

All our family met up here as halfway- really welcoming place & nice style. My whitebait were delicious & monkfish scampi & everyone else said there's was really tasty. We didn't have puddings as all nicely full!

Popped in for early lunch, nice welcome and pleasant space. Menu had several nice sounding homely meals on it but sadly that's all they were, nice sounding. I chose roast of the day which was beef. The beef had clearly ben sliced on a machine, probably from cold and then reheated, the gravy, roast potatoes and beef all had a... More

Got to the pub with 5 mins to spare before they closed off the lunch menu, service was great. The meals were fantastic ... we had the burger and pork. The portions were huge and ingredients fresh. We'd ordered dessert same time as main course, just to save the waitress time. We didn't realise how large the portions would be,... More

Food was OK but, in my opinion, overpriced. Served on cold plates so had to eat quickly. We did complain about something which they subsequently didn't charge for, which was fair. Wouldn't rush to return.

Visited the Mendip Inn last weekend and had a very enjoyable meal . The wild board burger was delicious as was the roast of the day. Portions are plenty enough without being too large. Prices are more restaurant than pub grub so do not expect a cheap meal. Some staff were a little salt of the earth, locals, but very... More

Busy, bustling, warm and welcoming on a cold and wet Sunday. Great, casual Sunday lunch for 13 including 5 kids. Would definitely return.

Can see why the pub is so busy for Sunday lunch. Tender beef, and fairly decent roasties. Only criticism being the veg, would have preferred something a little more seasonal. Not sure if mangetout and baby corn go with roast beef on a wintery Sunday. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely eat here again.

So often, a Sunday lunch out is a disappointing experience. However, the Mendip Inn ticked all the boxes. Buttery slices of beef, a light Yorkshire pudding, a fresh and perfectly cooked vegetable selection including baby carrots and sugar snap peas, perfectly decent roast potatoes and a rich gravy. I think it represents excellent value at £12 and I can easily... More
