My wife and I stopped on chance whilst passing on the way from Devon to Oxfordshire. All we wanted was some liquid refreshment and a sandwich. My wife ordered a beef and horseradish ciabatta and I ordered a stilton ploughman's. There was enough beef to fill at least two ciabattas, and some salad garnish, the whole thing was extremely fresh... More

Seated in the bar area. No ambience and lights too bright. Prawn cocktail pretty much tasteless. Carbonara very tasty and trio of desserts fairly good (although one was hanging off the board in a haphazard way - no love and attention there then). Espresso was good. REALLY DISAPPOINTED with the service. A bunch of staff just standing around laughing and... More

We booked a table last minute ahead of going on holiday the next day so we were in holiday mode. The food, and service were great and surpassed our expectations. The ambience of the restaurant was superb, and the countryside setting was second to none.

Definitely worth the 40 minute drive up to the Mendip Inn! You know that you'll always get a good meal and it's worth checking out the specials board! Customer service is always brilliant and the staff are very attentive! Will keep on going back!

Stopped here while passing as I usually pass by and food looked good, clean place pleasant staff. I returned last week to find the place packed and was lucky to get a table. Food was very nice and great service. I recommend booking.

We were celebrating our 45th Wedding Anniversary with family, we found the waiting staff less than interested and the food although well presented was luck warm.

We have eaten at the Mendip Inn several times over the last few years, but this time decided to take my 94 year old mother, who lives in a care home nearby, with us for lunch. My husband phoned beforehand to book a table, and asked for a table near the door, as my mother has to use a Zimmer... More

We randomly stumbled upon Mendip Inn on the way back from visiting Cheddar gorge. The decor is clean and Modern, the staff were really friendly but the food was amazing!! I had beef brisket. Beautifully cooked with a selection of tasty vegetables and my boyfriend had the 3 slider burgers with the dirty chips. It was yummy. Thank you.

We enjoyed a lovely birthday meal here with family. Service was great. Our only criticism is that the mains were huge and fairly pricey! Lots of wasted food at the end. Consensus of the table was that we'd much rather pay a little bit less and have a smaller portion. Other than that it was very enjoyable.
