As we were staying nearby we thought we would re-visit Lewtrenchard Manor for Sunday lunch. The gardens were looking fantastic sunshine bringing out the colours of the autumn leaves. The staff were welcoming and attentive and all in all we enjoyed the lunch. Without wanting to be too critical the cooking isn't quite as accomplished as it has been in... More

Just love the whole experience of Lewtrechard Manor. The drinks in the bar were served with attention to detail and the "nibbles" were delicious. The meal was excellent just a pity we were the only ones dining as it did lack atmosphere and it was a little chilly. But overall a lovely evening.

We ate dinner here twice during our 5 day stay. Once we had the multi-course menu and the once the ala carte/pub menu. Both were excellent. The multi-course dinner offerings were exquisitely presented and tasted as good as they looked. Highly recommend this for a special evening.

We have not been here for a few years and I do not really know why. Shot up from Cornwall in the sports car for a excellent lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great amuse bouche of wild mushroom soup, very good goat cheese starter and an excellent duck main. Desserts were of equal quality. Surroundings are comfortable and the service... More

Very happy with our decision to book an Afternoon Tea here. Lovely country house style hotel in its own grounds with some late colour remaining in the flower borders. There was a friendly reception when we arrived, and we could choose where we had our tea as it was quiet that day. There was a lovely fire set in the... More

We chose Lewtrenchard to celebrate my sister and brother in law`s Wedding Anniversary. We could not have made a better choice! From start to finish the entire luncheon experience was perfect. We began with drinks and delicious canapes in the comfortable bar. We were called through to the Dining Room very promptly and our starters were served almost immediately (... More

We were booked for a weekday lunch for 1pm, arrived at 12.30 shown to the Lounge and provided with drinks. Lunch was served right on time, my wife had Steak I had duck. The meals were just what you'd expect from such a lovely place. Unfortunately the weather was not good otherwise a look round the garden would have been... More

My Friend and I had drinks in the beautiful Courtyard before going to the front dining room. Beautiful food and excellent service. Always very enjoyable having a meal here.

My wife and I had booked to stay at Lewtrenchard Manor for the weekend, eating at the hotel each night, but that outstanding experience warrants a write-up of its own. The hotel has two small and beautifully-appointed dining rooms, so the experience is quite intimate and personal. We elected to dress for dinner, but there seems to be no real... More

We arrived at this beautiful location 15 minutes before our booked meal time so that we could have a drink before eating. Unfortunately we did not start eating for another 45 minutes, i.e. 30 minutes after our booked meal time. The restaurant was not busy, in fact only 8 people were being served. The service continued to be very slow... More

Description
A beautiful Jacobean manor house deep in the Devon countryside, Lewtrenchard Manor offers luxury dining in a sublime setting. Dating back to the 1600s, the Manor has an interesting and varied history, a fact that can be seen in every nook and cranny throughout the hotel and dining rooms. One of the finest restaurants in the county, the Lewtrenchard Manor restaurant is overseen by Chef Matthew Peryer who learned his trade in high quality Michelin stared establishments. The menus make the most of the best of Devonshire produce while employing the methods and flavour combinations of chic modern European cuisine, earning the restaurant its reputation. Lively and relaxed, Lewtrenchard Manor is a superb place in which to indulge in the very best food and, indeed, delightful wines from the extensive cellar of old and new world labels.
