We arrived at this beautiful location 15 minutes before our booked meal time so that we could have a drink before eating. Unfortunately we did not start eating for another 45 minutes, i.e. 30 minutes after our booked meal time. The restaurant was not busy, in fact only 8 people were being served. The service continued to be very slow... More

Stayed here as a part of our honeymoon. Very friendly staff, atmospheric rooms, clean and lovely food! A true English experience - it reminded us of Downton Abbey!

Superb country house venue. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch with confit of duck main course, but a little disappointed that the only other choices were pollack and veggie. Nevertheless everything was beautifully presented, with courteous and professional service. Well worth the drive.

This is a lovely building in a beautiful location. The restaurant is serene and the service is top quality. The food is outstanding. We had the tasting menu and the variety of elements and flavours on each plate was wonderful. This ranks among some of the best dining experiences we have enjoyed and I would place this up with some... More

Wonderful to be out for afternoon tea again, it has been a long winter without them; and what a first outing of the season it was! Just a lovely setting and service. We sat in a room to ourselves, with comfortable sofas to relax on, ample quantities of tea and then fresh, simply filled, but delicious sandwiches, huge fresh scones,... More

We went to Lewtrenchard after a small wedding to celebrate. From the first we had superb service , the wines were brought outside and served to our guests in the garden so that we could drink a toast to the newly-weds. We were then served a full tea inside a beautiful room , the food was a visual treat and everyone... More

having already done a review today after getting home I can't help thinking about the things I didn't say. A very peaceful location; great grounds for walking the dog or yourselves. Local vegetables ( if not grrouwn at the manor). Venison from within half a mile. I could go on. Please..do yourselves a favour and look, book and experience. What... More

Faultless cooking! Beetroot and goats cheese starter, tender venison rump and a perfect chocolate fondant in a beautiful historic manor house on the edge of lovely Dartmoor. What could be better and good value at lunchtime.

Description
A beautiful Jacobean manor house deep in the Devon countryside, Lewtrenchard Manor offers luxury dining in a sublime setting. Dating back to the 1600s, the Manor has an interesting and varied history, a fact that can be seen in every nook and cranny throughout the hotel and dining rooms. One of the finest restaurants in the county, the Lewtrenchard Manor restaurant is overseen by Chef Patron Jason Hornbuckle who learned his trade under the watchful eyes of some of Londons most respected chefs in high quality city establishments. Here, Hornbuckle has enthusiastically created a menu that makes the most of the best Devonshire produce available while employing the methods and flavour combinations of chic modern European cuisine, earning the restaurant three AA Rosettes. Lively and relaxed, Lewtrenchard Manor is a superb place in which to indulge in the very best food and, indeed, delightful wines from the extensive cellar of old and new world labels.
