A cosy old little house by the harbour. Got the tasting menu which tasted amazing. A good balance between the ingredients. Fresh seafood with each platter highlighting the seafood at hand. Very reasonable price. Good and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We loved it. Small dishes to share. Perfect. We had 5 dishes to share and it was delicious. Most of the dishes are seafood, so don’t go here if you are not into seafood. We had scallops, mussles, cod, halloumi. Best restaurant we went to...in Iceland!More

We have recently visited during Covid restrictions so booking was necessary. It’s not a huge place so booking might be normal anyway! Sjavarpakkhusid looks lovely in the inside and sits right on the harbour. We were literally eating our dinner, watching fresh fish and mussels...being pulled off the boats. We had two small plates (cod croquettes/ haloumi), a main (mussels) and a dessert (chocolate mousse). All the food was divine. The small plates were great starters and got us excited about the rest of the meal. The mussels were perfect- full of flavour and not drowning in sauce. The chocolate mousse was like nothing we have tasted before. So delicious and smooth. Service was super friendly. We felt the final cost reflected our experience. We had a really lovely evening and was a great half way mark in our ten day drive around Iceland.More

Excellent and very innovative food. Great surprise. Book in advance.. as popular and tiny place. We took scallops and char tartare as starters and fish as main dish. All great!

The food was good but my first sip from my water glass was a turn over in my dinner. With my first sip came somethig, some food, at least I think so, immediatly I spit it out on a plat on the table. I called...the vaiter and asked her to repace the glass and the plate and explaned why. The answer she gave me was "It was nothing dangours" What!!!! Is this the answer you give when your customer has just had food that was probably from anothers costomers mouth in his mouth?? What kind of service is that? We had ordered 4 diffrent courses to share and in one was the same thing that i had in my mouth from the glass. So when we were to pay our bil I told her what I thouth had been in my glass. She said "that's nice"! What??? That's nice! How is that nice? I had a food from another person in my mouth an that is supposed to be nice! I got no "Im sorry" we were never asked how we liked the food. And in the end we were to pay the whole bill. I would not have minde that if they had just appogised for the dirt but NO she didnt even bother to do that! So if I get Covid this will be my first place to look!More

Great seafood, but very rich - not for those trying to avoid butter. The scallop and Arctic char appetizers were excellent, as was the salted ling main course. Desserts were good, but perhaps not as good as the other courses. The presentation of everything was...excellent, as was the service. Wine was affordable. Overall, a good choice.More

This was hands down some of the best food we have ever eaten. Perfect. The fish is local and fresh, the portions are huge, the cooking is adventurous and flavorful, the service was friendly. If you visit this town go here.
