So disappointing. I reserved about a month out, after seeing the great reviews on this place. Even though it was still very early in the evening, they were out of one of the 3 appetizers, and the waitress couldn’t provide any additional details on the...very few dishes they had, and insisted there were no mussels and scallops (to which I am very allergic) in the dishes we were interested in. After we were served our dishes, we were then told that one of the dishes probably had mussels and scallops in the sauce. No offer to replace it with another dish. The cod cheeks appetizer was deep fried and coated in some honey bbq sauce, and the fish entree riddled with bones. We tried two of the wines by the glass, and they were both so bad we ended up ordering beer. We ate at Narfeyrarstofa the following evening, which we found delicious, delightful, and even less expensive.More

The most deserved 5 out of five in a while. Dishes were incredibile, we had the bisque, the cod cheeks and a superb wolffish with horseradish and celeriac and kombu, which is going to be quite impossibile to forget. I’d suggest not to spoil some...precious food paring those dishes with a cocktail - we had the rhubarb and the wasabi cocktails, they were good but quite too tasty to be drunk along with the plates - rookie mistake of us.More

We loved the food here so much we dined both nights of our stay. Can highly recommend the taster menus as a way of sampling the fabulous seafood on offer especially if you’re not sure what to order, then if you return you can be...more confident in your decision making!More

This was a delicious find. We went for the 8 course tasting menu, with one of our choices being a dessert. Each was beautifully served. Excellent, friendly quick service. Each course was a good portion. Yummy cervice scallops. Unusual flavouring, taster menu, but good. Birch...liquer to finish-excellent. Brown cheese curd dessert, interesting, but quite sweet. All our choices of fish were excellent.More

This was the restaurant we came to our first night in Iceland. It was also our wedding anniversary. I had mentioned that in our reservation and they gave us a nice table. We ordered a couple of cocktails and a tasting menu. The food was...very good, mainly fish and seafood, but perfect for this special occasion. The staff were friendly and professional. Great placeMore

We were very happy with the experience. Subtly designed interior and tableware. Great cocktails and both the food and service was exellent. All in all a very enjoyable evening.

There’s only two restaurants in town and this is the better of the two so we ate here. The ambience was nice and the service was good but the food was a mixed bag. Some dishes were very good, some were pretty good and some...mediocre (the mussels…). For the price they charge I’d expect a really good meal.More

Had cod cheeks salad and mussels . Very ordinary. The cod cheeks were tough. The rhubarb daquri was nice . Much better restaurants in Selfloss where we started our trip.

This is a very small restaurant--please make reservations. I had the Iceland scallops cerviche and cod cheeks. I was uncertain at first about the cerviche because the sauce included wasabi and licorice. Icelandic wasabi is NOTHING like Japanese wasabi is is VERY mild as is...the licorice. This was an absolutely perfect dish. Our table of 6 had a variety of dishes and all were very pleased. I was not as pleased with the cod cheeks which were deep fried and had cooked too long so were tough and they should have been really tender. We all had the rhubarb cocktail and it was very tasty.More

The ferry was getting in at 8:30 and we had a drive over an hour to our hotel so decide to eat here. It was such a good decision. The lump fish roe was amazing served on heart shaped waffles. The wolf fish served with...a Celeric purée and wasabi Drizzle was excellent. Highly recommendMore

The cocktails were super good soeciqlly the wasaby gimlet and rubarb daquiri. The staff were very friendly and we have no...complaints. It really made our day going to Sjávarpakkhúsið.More
