We had the beef nachos to start, then my husband had the lamb soup and I had beef stew. We both had local brews as well. Food was great, but you do need to get used to the fact that the servers do not check on you, and they are not tipped. As an American, I think we are used to being waited on, but then we tip, and that is not the case in Iceland. However, the gentleman who took care of us was very nice, and even held on to my husband's phone when he left it behind! Good view of the beach, and casual pub atmosphere.

The food here is excellent. The restaurant is a little understated but the food is wonderful. We both had Arctic char that was locally caught. It was perfectly cooked we could of shared another one not because we were hungry but because it was delicious.The staff was very nice and accommodating. After dinner we had a nice walk on the black sand beach. Great dinner

I reopened my account to write this:
In here, i've waited 1 hour and a half for 2 cheeseburger and a kids' fish & chips (1 HOUR AND A HALF). Even if a pub is full (in this case, more or less 10 tables) it's something out of this world.
P.s.:
I ordered a specific beer, they gave me a wrong one,
I ordered a specific dish (write by them on the menu), they gave me the right one but with missing ingredients!

Came for dinner with my fiance. Ordered starter and mains. Brought all together. Acknowledged mistake but no offer to correct. I would have probably said it was fine had it been mentioned! But it wasn't. No one asked if we were happy with the meal, just picked the plates up with out a word. Otherwise I would have told them and not written on here. I suppose they are not really expecting return custom from foreign tourists.

Just ate there tonight and loved it! Mike is a fantastic server and bartender, very attentive and a wonderful personality. We had the lamb soup which was spectacular. The lamb was tender, vegetables perfectly cooked, and the soup broth was very delicious. We also had the fish & chips which was also amazing. Great flavoring on the fish, not heavily battered, very good portion, crispy fries. Definitely a must go!

I'm glad to see such a positive feedback and it makes me truly happy to see that you were satisfied in every aspect of your experience with us.
I'm immensely grateful that my waiting team is putting some extra effort to get closer to our guests and tries to make everybody feel welcome and comfortable.
Your exhaustive review of our meals is outstanding! I cannot say anything else than thank you for sharing your thoughts on our meals. The chefs are always trying to improve our à la carte menu with traditional recipes, new flavors, and cooking techniques and it's great to see that what they are doing is working really well.

The food was not special. The pizza’s where too fat (too much oil). Burger was okay. Not special. Prices weren’t low but that is Iceland. Staff was okay. The wine did not have much taste, especially the white wine.

We waited for one hour and the staff offered us the entire dinner. They were super kind and gentle, we ordered a wonderful hamburger, the french fries were delicious and the pizza ok (but we are italian hence quite demanding). I want to remark again the amazing staff who works there.

Location is perfect in a days when one can sit outside. Food in overall deserved 4 stars in my opinion - some dishes are really great (awsome fish & chips), some are mediocere. On the other hand, when my wife & I visited, two waitresses tried to serve an overcrowded restaraunt, and not very successfully. This left us with a mixed experience

We were looking around Vík trying to decide where to have our evening meal and had seen others’ Trip Advisor reports from this pub/restaurant which were positive. It is just on the edge of the Black Beach in Vík. We stopped by in the afternoon to take a look inside and asked whether we could make a reservation for that evening. One cannot reserve a table, but the young people working there told us that tables were usually available fairly quickly during the evening and that one can wait at the bar. We had a very tasty meal without having to wait and could see that the many new guests continually arriving during the evening didn’t have to wait very many minutes for a table. We were probably the longest sitting guests that evening! We took our time to enjoy our meal and then wandered down to the Black Beach to experience a very windy and rainy evening. If we go back to Vík again next year (this was our second visit), then we’ll definitely eat at this restaurant. The staff were friendly and attentive.

This place was perfect after a long, cold and rainy day exploring so seriously amazing countryside. The place has an open floor plan with plenty of seating…our server was prompt and friendly. We were longing for some comfort food and that’s exactly what we got! For starters we snagged some seafood chowder (so tasty) & a combo starter platter…solid start! We then ordered some fish & chips and the beef stew over mashed potatoes! Both were legit. ! If you’re in this sweet town of Vik, there is no reason you should pass up this opportunity!l

We were in Vik and our kids wanted to eat at the black crust pizza place so while they went there my husband and I came here for a quiet dinner.
We were seated right away and the server was prompt. My husband had the chicken wings as he loves wings at home and wanted to say he had wings in Iceland and I had the burger and fries which was delicious. The burger was super juicy and filling it came with fries. THe food abd drink was good and relatively well priced in Iceland standards.
There was about 15-18 tables in the restaurant and a bar with like 6 seats. I would stop here if you are hungary the food was good

I don't recommend to eat here. They tried to charge us food that we didn't order. They man was so arrogant when we tried to explain it and started laughingabout the situation. Another thing is that the waitress started taking our food plates without finishing while they didn't do that to the other customers. And this haven't happened in any other places of Iceland.
Again, I don't suggest to eat here.

We hosted our wedding reception at the Strondin Pub and we could not have been happier with everything that the staff did to make it a perfect event. The manager went out of his way to set up the tables and decorations as we had asked. The staff made sure that the food was served correctly and it was delicious.
The restaurant was cozy and the perfect size for our small wedding party and guests. We had been working with the staff for a few months prior to the event and they were open to our suggestions and they even made great ones to us ensuring the evening was a great time for everyone.
We cannot thank the staff enough for everything that they did to help us plan, set up and host this event.
While we did not have a "normal" dining experience, based on our interactions with the manager and staff, I would highly recommend the Pub for their food, atmosphere and drinks.

We loved this place! They accommodated our gluten and dairy free diet very well! My husband said the lamb chops were the best he’s ever had, we loved the char which the staff recommended and we enjoyed their gin selection. Would highly recommend if you stop in Vik! Also- very decent prices!
