I highly recommend this restaurant. We stayed at the hotel Kria and we chose to also get a dinner there. We had no reservation, it was during covid-19 and we arrived 5 minutes to 9pm, and the restaurant was closing 9pm. They had no issue...to still serve us at the restaurant and they were super accommodating. They have awesome selection of wine and the food is simply delicious. If you choose lamb, you will eat the most delicious lamb on the whole island. However, they have also very delicious vegan food as well as seafood. Waiters were super nice and gave us as much time as we needed, even though they were basically closing the kitchen. We loved it there so much that we decided to return at the end of our trip to have one last dinner there. Well, it didnt work out as they are open only during weekends because of the pandemic, so make sure you are heading there the right time.More

We had dinner here since we were staying at Hotel Kria. The food and wine were both outstanding. Interesting and thoughtful wine list. Delicious, beautiful, interesting and perfectly prepared food. We were delighted!

The restaurant tries to make food with the few available ingredients in Iceland in the winter. And they do a fine job for this!

It’s a little amazing that the town of Vik has a restaurant this sophisticated and stylish. Drangar has an outstanding menu of well-prepared dishes with an emphasis on Icelandic flavors. I did something unusual for me and opted for the vegetarian main, a barley casserole...with squash and wild mushrooms, which was excellent. My starter of char in cream sauce and carrot cake dessert were equally solid. The setting, with 30 foot floor to ceiling windows looking out to the mountains behind the town, is spectacular. This is a must if you ever find yourself in these environsMore

The lamb was just tender and out of this world. The cod, one of the best we have had here so far. The restaurant is beautiful, stylish and cosy and the stuff are really friendly and professional

Our most expensive restaurant during our 11 day trip around Iceland but the food was good and the staff friendly. Alcohol may have been a factor.... When the weather is bad - and it often is - provides an easy decision.

My wife and I took advantage of the 15% savings on the “Icelandic three course dinner”offered to guests staying here (our staging hotel for the Glacier Lagoon.) We are so glad we did! I ordered food unique to Iceland — fresh cod served sashimi style...with sliced cucumber on top, barley and vegetables served like a risotto, and for desert skyr with cucumbers and a meringue crisp. My wife had potato leek soup, poached Arctic char and a unique white chocolate mousse served on top of plums. So much flavor! The only hiccup was the the restaurant has a new manager and is changing the wine list. So the only red wine was a Louis Latour Pinot sold by the glass, and too was really good. Service was great in that our server steered to what turned out to be very good options, and was attentive. We’re from California so not too much sticker shock on the bill especially considering food quality, ambience and that service is included.More

Came here on a Thursday night at 8pm and you could hear a pin drop in the restaurant. We were quieted to a whisper at times. Serving staff need a TON of work to get to know their menu. They didn't have a clue what...was going on. Overall pretty poor experience, wish we just ate at the brewery or sudur vik, both a hundred times better than this place.More

We decided to come here for dinner and were very pleased with both the food and service. The lamb and salad were outstanding. Quality was excellent even though the restaurant was expensive. Recommend if you are looking for fine dining.
