The view, service and food were awesome. The tasty lamb chops with the green panko dusting looked just like moss. Incredible!

Wonderful food choices, exciting menu options, more than adequate portions. The Atlantic Char and it’s corresponding crudite we’re fantastic as was the lamb and beef plates. Great and innovative drinks and desserts! Only weird thing was they only allow hotel guests to enjoy the beautiful...view from the majority of this pretty restaurant? Felt sort of second class huddled behind a big wall so we couldn’t enjoy the view of the mountains above usMore

Family of three with a reservation. Glad we had it as this hotel does have a lot of groups and if timing is not right, a group can fill the room quickly. That said we were greeted warmly and seated with at a table with...an excellent view. The menu is not large but none of us had a problem finding something to make us happy. The quality of food and preparation was good. Seasonal staff were friendly and abundant. Timing of starters, to mains, to desert was good and no sense of being rushed. There is no denying that Drangar has the unavoidable feel of a hotel restaurant but the staff, dining room, and food off-set that well. We would certainly go back!More

I’m so glad we ended up eating here for dinner while staying the night in Vik. We had the mushroom soup, vegetable quiche Lorraine (both dishes were vegetarian) and the chocolate mousse for dessert. Everything was delicious and flavored perfectly. The dessert wasn’t too sweet...either. The meal here was definitely a standout from all the meals we’ve had so far in Iceland.More

We had a fabulous experience here! Great service, drinks, and food - the lamb and the beef entrees are must haves! And the espresso martini was a perfect after dinner drink.

We had table at 19:00. The menu was not good, order a lamb and had it 19:06, pre cooked and not good. We payed 19:25, 10.000kr just for the lamb for 2 people and we went home hungry 😏

Not worth going to. High design but pretty unexceptional food. Nothing bad but the least good food we’ve had in Iceland. Expensive but uninspired. Waitstaff seemed to agree.

Compliment for the design of the restaurant. Huge windows overlooking the hills. Small waiting area, bar was completely full (too full). Food was good, not excellent, but expensive. Our biggest complaint is that we hardly finished our starter and the main course was already there....Same with the dessert. In less than an hour we were outside again.More

Seeing that there are only 40 reviews when we visited, we didn’t add this to our list of places to eat while we’re in Vik. However, we’re checked in at Hotel Kria, and got snowed in. We were too tired to drive or walk anywhere...so we decided to eat here. We were all pleasantly surprised by how tasty ans aesthetically appealing the dishes were. The wait staff were also very attentive. We didn’t run out of drinks or bread on the table while waiting for our soup and main dishes.More

I highly recommend this restaurant. We stayed at the hotel Kria and we chose to also get a dinner there. We had no reservation, it was during covid-19 and we arrived 5 minutes to 9pm, and the restaurant was closing 9pm. They had no issue...to still serve us at the restaurant and they were super accommodating. They have awesome selection of wine and the food is simply delicious. If you choose lamb, you will eat the most delicious lamb on the whole island. However, they have also very delicious vegan food as well as seafood. Waiters were super nice and gave us as much time as we needed, even though they were basically closing the kitchen. We loved it there so much that we decided to return at the end of our trip to have one last dinner there. Well, it didnt work out as they are open only during weekends because of the pandemic, so make sure you are heading there the right time.More

The restaurant tries to make food with the few available ingredients in Iceland in the winter. And they do a fine job for this!

It’s a little amazing that the town of Vik has a restaurant this sophisticated and stylish. Drangar has an outstanding menu of well-prepared dishes with an emphasis on Icelandic flavors. I did something unusual for me and opted for the vegetarian main, a barley casserole...with squash and wild mushrooms, which was excellent. My starter of char in cream sauce and carrot cake dessert were equally solid. The setting, with 30 foot floor to ceiling windows looking out to the mountains behind the town, is spectacular. This is a must if you ever find yourself in these environsMore

The lamb was just tender and out of this world. The cod, one of the best we have had here so far. The restaurant is beautiful, stylish and cosy and the stuff are really friendly and professional

Our most expensive restaurant during our 11 day trip around Iceland but the food was good and the staff friendly. Alcohol may have been a factor.... When the weather is bad - and it often is - provides an easy decision.
