Our tour group stopped in Vik at this eatery located in a mall for lunch. It was a cafeteria-style service where you get a tray and follow the line to choose and order your food. I ordered the marinated lamb from the overhead menu. I...paid for it and got a number. I found a table and waited about 10 minutes to be called to go and pick up my meal. The lamb was slightly overcooked but it was still tasty and the portion size was quite large. Service was friendly and efficient. I was satisfied with my meal experience.More

Cafeteria style. We were a little unsure. Fresh artic char was amazing. The portion so large, it fed two of us. Went back the next day for the lamb, it was sold out and had the char again!

In the shopping complex in Vik we had a stop over on our 2 day South Coast tour. The Ice Cave Bistro was where we grabbed a bite to eat. The food was easy to get and the prices were reasonable. It was a bit...like a cafeteria, plenty of seating. We both had traditional Lamb Soup that was filling and quite yummy. For a take-away with seating it was quite good.More

We had vegetarian jain burger here and it was all we could ask for. They replaced the fries with a salad of our choice, the patty was made of quinoa and kale and they customised the burger according to our requirements too.

We were VERY happy to find free restrooms here - that's a weird way to start a food review but really, Iceland does not make it easy to take care of bodily needs! There need to be rest stops along ALL MAJOR roads with FREE...restrooms for travelers willing to spend their money to get to Iceland. Rant over. The Ice House has great souvenirs at decent prices, FREE restrooms and good food in the Bistro. We had fish and chips ($18) and lamb stew ($25). We never thought we'd pay $25 for a bowl of soup but it was big and hearty and delicious. The fish and chips were good too. The Bistro was a nice place to sit, eat and rest after seeing waterfalls, puffins and black sand beaches.More

Honestly, just find anywhere else in this town. Prices weren’t bad for Iceland but the food was incredibly sub-par, in my opinion. It was dry, bland cafeteria food. As someone coming from the UK, I also wasn’t expecting their toasted sandwiches to use burger cheese...slices - We literally call that plastic cheese, it’s not good. I wish I would’ve spent my money elsewhere, so I’d suggest you do. All of that said, the staff were very friendly and I heard them happily exchanging food that people were complaining had been given cold.More

This cafe is just feet from the ocean and so we ordered fish and chips. The chips were fine, but the fish was a large flaked and formed "fish Stick." Not worth the money. Did not expect frozen food at a beach town.
