About
We are a local family owned soup company, located in the heart of Vik i Myrdal, Iceland. We serve various sorts of delicious soups and freshly baked bread, salads, paninis and home made cakes. We started our company because we simply love soups. We come from a large family and throughout the years we have gathered on cold rainy days over hot soup, It's a family tradition. We wanted to bring some of our tastiest recipes alive and introduce it to the people of Vik and all the wonderful travellers that come through our little town.

Tried The Soup Company since it was near our hotel and serves continuously for a late lunch or early dinner. It was so good and cosy we went back the next night. Hubby had the traditional fish soup with big chunks of fish in a...flavorful broth and I had the broccoli and cheddar. Yum. Comes with warm herb bread and refills included on both soup and bread. The panni sandwich was good, too. Lines can be out the door so try to go at off-peak dining hours.More

The food is DELICIOUS! We got there late, but we did not feel rushed at all. They made sure we got our second serving of soup before they cleaned everything up. Could not recommend more highly!

All I can say is we are still talking about this restaurant. The "soup flights" were so good and such a wonderful idea. Highly recommend.

The soup here is so good, and it was especially fun eating their lava soup out of a black bread bowl, made to look like a lava rock. It wasn't just the novelty though, the food is amazing. We tried their macarons as well and...they were wonderful! We were again going for the novelty (who can resist lava, glacier and aurora themed macarons) but the flavors were unreal, especially the dark chocolate with pepper (sounds weird but yum!) Perfect for a cold and rainy day, especially if you've just finished up a tour with Troll Expeditions as that is the meeting place.More

We had lunch prior to the Lava Show which is in the same building. The soup comes in either a bread bowl or an earthenware bowl and is delicious. They have gluten-free and vegan soup options as well as delicious and warm gluten free bread....Free refills on any type of soup…not just the original order.More

Sooo good. We got fish curry soup and the lava soup. Both super flavorful. The lava soup was not at all spicy though. Don't worry about leaving hungry, you can get a refill as well as endless bread and butter. Got Snickers pie for dessert....It was amazing and the rich chocolate ganache was nicely balanced by the light peanut mousse.More

Out of the three places I ordered the lamb soup this place was the best hands down! My boyfriend got the fish soup and he said it was fantastic as well. When we are in Vik again definitely coming back!

Great soups. Their Hot Lava Soup in a bread bowl was awesome. They offer one free refill on their soups. Don’t miss their macaroons. They are located in the same building as the Lava Show. It’s also the meeting location for Troll Excursions. So, from...time to time, it can get crowed. Don’t fear. They are efficient and worth the wait. They have a sign up that says basically “please don’t take a table until you’ve ordered.” They enforce that. I watched the young lady behind the counter ask a lady to give up her table. Seating will all work out. It’s more organized than it looks. We loved it.More

After exploring the area and the super windy Dyrholaey and then also being exposed to the open sea at the Reynisfjara Beach we decided that a hot soup would be the best idea for lunch... and guess what there is the Soup place right in...Vik :) You can do a sampler but also if you take regular full soup you can do a refill of any other soup as well - so you can just take one or actually try every single one of them - we tried 3 or 4 I think :) so considering unlimited refills it's quite a bargain but if you just come here for a single bowl of soup it's a bit pricey - still worth it as some the whole place is super cozy, has nice views, pleasant service - it's a perfect stop in Vik to recharge batteries. TIP: It's worth mentioning that the restaurant is sharing the building with the Icelandic Lava Show (separate profile here on TripAdvisor) that we wanted to try based on the really good reviews here but we simply didn't make it on time and they sell out so you need to book in advance - this is a very rich area of Iceland when it comes for things to do/visit/experience so plan accordingly - we simply couldn't squeeze in anymore that day :) there is also a small souvenir store inside the same buildingMore

Highly recommend this stop for a meal. Delish bread and lentil soup. Lots of clean toilets too, which is important when on a road trip. Lol.
