The restaurant Einsi Kaldi is located on the ground floor of Hotel Vestmannaeyjar. The house itself is a historic place, where a lot of establishments have been located, such as a cinema, a soda factory, a printshop and later on it was used as a storage building. The house collapsed during the volcano eruption of 1973 but was rebuilt again in 1975. The owner of the restaurant Einar Bjorn Arnason ,,Einsi kaldi", local man, born and raised in Vestmannaeyjar, enjoys greatly to put his magic and imagination into delicious seafood-dishes and for that he is renowned. Was with a group of 33, all over 75. Staff took good care of us and was very accommodating. The food was good, but not exceptional. We did not try the several special offers, since this was a group dinner, but everyone was satisfied.

It is within the Hotel Vestmannaeyjar offering menu specialized to this fantastic island. I can recommend that you let the chef choose for you and you will enjoy something special.

We stayed at Hotel Vestmannaeyjar and Einsi Kaldi Restaurant is in the same house. Very friendly staff and drinks at a good price at least during happy hour. The food was also excellent. My best reccomandation to Einsi Kaldi
