Went with some work colleagues for dinner. The burgers were just ok, way to thick for our taste. The place looks pretty good and the location is amazing.

I ordered the vegan burger for 3.490kr and had to wait nearly 45 minutes for it. The burger tasted bland and the patty was incredibly thick, so thick I could hardly eat it. Would definitely not recommend this place for dinner.

Excellent selection of fish - the char and the catch of the day were amazing. Lovely vegan burger for my daughter. Bags of flavour. We got there just before 7 when it was still happy hour. We were at our table and asked waitress about...it. She said we had to go up to bar to get it. That was fine - good to know if you visit then. Beer was great, tasty dessert. Good valueMore

Went to a Beer and Icelandic food tasing (booked through Viator) which brought us to Bryggjan Brugghus. My friend and I joined another pair of women friends and our host DonByrd. The beer was novel and throughly drinkable -- my favorite being the smoked lager....The food was excellent and well paired with the beer offerings. We were so fortunate to have wonderfully fun and funny companions on our "tour" which made it all the better. DonByrd was a good host, walked us through all the food and beers, joined us for our laughs and when seeing how much fun we were having, gave us a great tip for where we could all extend the good time! One of the things I love about Iceland! its super social -- everyone just meeting people and joining up for a good time. I don't know how typical our experience was, but it was a really fun experience.More

Found Bryggjan on Untappd being a bit of a beer fan and always trying to find local breweries. The decor and atmosphere of the place is really good and it quickly filled up. We started off sharing 6 thirds of their beers. All of them...were very palatable and shared a common flavour base. We decided to try their taster menu and were astounded. The menu is expensive BUT the food is amazing, three starters, two main courses and two deserts so make certain that you have a hearty appetite if you intend to order this. A second 6 thirds rounded off a memorable evening. Highly recommendedMore

We had a slot booked with DonByrd at 6PM. It was our first evening in Reykjavik and we weren't entirely sure on what to expect. We introduced ourselves at the bar and DonByrd was friendly and approachable. He sat with us while we tried different...types of Icelandic cuisine and beer brewed on site. The food and drinks were amazing, and DonByrd was informative and funny. Following our meal we had a quick but thorough tour through the brewery. I would highly recommend the experience.More

There are two reasons why I came to Bryggjan 1. I signed up for a Cheers to Reykjavik beer tasting tour. 2. I wanted to eat something before I did the tour. First the food and beer. Very friendly, attentive service. I had the Litli...Gris, a lovely microbrew which is their house special with a kicker 8.75 percent ABV. It was lovely and complemented the beer soaked mussels and fries I had. I expected eight mussels... got five times that much, very generous. Having them soaked in beer also helped and added flavor. Some of the best mussels and the most generous portion I ever had. Do go with local Icelandtic fish. People also loved the fish and chips. Now the beer tour. Dan Byrd did not mind that it was only an awesome UK guy named Tony and myself on the beer run. We enjoyed six great beers all made IN HOUSE with six Icelantic dishes. Dan paired everything perfectly; he should consider opening his own gastropub. Each beer could stand on its own and tasted so fresh. Dan listened to our questions and made us feel welcome, even if it was just two guys who love good beer. It's the first MIcrobrewery in Iceland I believe and set the standard for not just good brew and food, but making guests feel welcome. The icing was that reception called me a cab back to my home. Thank You!More

Great food and brewery tour. We loved this place. There were several vegan options on the menu, meat and fish eaters very happy too. All the food was beautifully prepared and the price wasn’t too painful. The bartender chatted to us for a while after...the tour and the whole place had a relaxed atmosphere.More

The bar has a nice feel to it and the beer is super tasty. Large range of in house brewed beer which we really appreciated. Get in there for the happy hour and it’s even better! Fun game set up to play as well.
