Visited on recent city break. Fish was beautiful but let down with frozen chips. The sauces are extra too and not enough for the whole meal.

We saw this little food spot highlighted on a YouTube video prior to coming to Iceland. Upon our arrival in Reykjavik we walked around in the morning to locate it for our planned lunch that day but we couldn't find it. Later when we went...out, we saw the owner pulling the little red unit behind his truck and parking in their spot on the harbour. They have a few picnic tables outside and that is their full set up. So cute! We had the fish and it was extremely fresh and tasty. Chips were also great. The cost for one piece and chips was about $20.00. Staff were friendly and it was quick turnaround. Also liked that all of their boxes and utensils were able to be recycled. Great spot!More

Fish & chips are my favourite takeaway in the UK so I was excited to try this supposedly authentic version from a van at the Reykjavik marina. There are 4 picnic style tables immediately in front and bins to recycle the boxes. Service was quick...and clearly well practised system giving order numbers to collect when ready. Fish was flaky in a light crisp batter so top marks for that and a good portion size at a reasonable price (for Iceland). However the chips reminded me more of a standard oven chip than those from a chip stall. Also seemed to have had salt added which made them seem more salty than Im used to. Maybe this is normal for Iceland and I did finish everything but I doubt I'll be returning.More

The cod is caught off Iceland and brought into Reykjavik so the fish is really fresh. Batter was light and crispy. Chips just perfect. Menu is limited to fish and chips with or without mushy peas and optional sauces. You find their red food van...by the old harbor and sit at picnic tables to enjoy.More

We stopped here for lunch after our whale-watching tour. Easily accessible location at the harbor. Truly the best fish and chips we've ever had, anywhere in the world.

I stopped by for lunch and was very happy I did. Very fresh fish and good chips. Good solid choice in you're in the area. Also, it was easy to find a place to park for free right close by. Limited hours though, not for...people who eat lunch late!More

This place truly shows what the magic of the freshest ingredients can do for what is in essence a relatively simple dish and in turn this will be the best Fish&Chips you will ever taste. They pride themselves on relying on British tradition in making...their Fish&Chips - which is true - but this is still in a totally different league to the fare you will have in your run-of-the-mill Chippie in the UK due to them using the freshest fish on the planet. There is every chance that the fish you are having, was swimming the crystal blue sea just a few hours before you devour it. This restaurant is worth all the hype, and more......not to be missed!More

Excellent fish for a quick meal enjoyed sitting out on the benches or tables right next to the harbor. Very fresh fish, with a nice crisp coating that is light and not greasy.

I grew up in the Midwest, dairy country, steak, meat and potatoes, Friday night fish fry. I actually prefer fish to meat, but also came from a large family, so if you were late to the table, your option was to dine from what was...left. Long story short, I loved the fish from this little fish/chips food cart, parked outside a gas station, just before you get to the Keflavik airport. I mean seriously, loved this fish...we have had fish and chips across a lot of the planet....but this fish has moved up to the #1 spot on our list....chips are chips, and we like potatoes, but did I mention....I really loved this fish... Fresh, crisp, light, and an incredible flavor.... Do I get worked up over an Icelandic cod filet.....we did this time.... We give this little mobile, fish/chips trailer a cold beer in the river guarantee for you, and a two-thumbs up review.. MahaloMore

We'd seen a video about these guys but came upon them serendipitously as we walked through the city. It's Reykjavik, so it's not cheap, but it was delicious. The fish was fresh and flavourful. Not greasy. And the yam fries were lovely. We were glad...to have stumbled across it.More
