Location and contact

Chef Johann Helgi Johannsson and his wife Ragnheidur Helen Edvardsdottir own and manage Resto. Johann has built up a great reputation for quality cooking in other restaurants in Reykjavik so they decided to follow their dreams and open their own restaurant. The atmosphere is friendly and there is much effort put into the food.

Went to Resto as it was my birthday whilst we were in Rekjavik. Excellent 5 course tasting menu ( we opted for the lamb main instead of the fish option ). Very well prepared, presented & cooked food - delicious. Went down well with a...More

Beautiful lamb and cod mains in pleasant surroundings and attentive staff. We shared a starter and a main each and had no room for desert. Would need to book at a weekend or for a table of more than 4 Only downside is the price

Ate here on Sunday night. We both had the fish set menu which works out about £50 each. Every dish was gorgeous would highly recommend this place to everyone. The restaurant is lovely, the staff explain every dish and the service was spot on.

We really enjoyed our dinner. The food was wonderful and the service excellent. The baked cod with chorizo was great as well as the sautéed cod with mushrooms. Dessert was also great - chocolate cake and also the fig ice cream. Yum! Highly recommended.

Booked a birthday meal based on previous reviews and was not disappointed. The short menu (a good sign) was well balanced but obviously Icelandic in focus. Food was beautifully presented and appropriately sized portions. Prices are reasonable (for Iceland!). The ambience is calm and much...More

This place was recommended to us by the hotel. My friend and I had a delicious dinner. I had the fish soup followed by the baked salt cod with chorizo. I couldn’t fault anything, the Alsace Riesling was a great accompaniment and we love the...More

We had a lovely meal here, my husband got to complete his taste tour by having the shark as a starter. The fish soup and cod were amazing. Only slight downside is that it is quite hard to see the restaurant, no big signed etc....More
