Location and contact

Chef Johann Helgi Johannsson and his wife Ragnheidur Helen Edvardsdottir own and manage Resto. Johann has built up a great reputation for quality cooking in other restaurants in Reykjavik so they decided to follow their dreams and open their own restaurant. The atmosphere is friendly and there is much effort put into the food.

I definitely recommend a visit to Resto if you visit Reykjavik. Both my husband and I had the 5 course degustation with the lamb and were really impressed. Both the flavours and quality of the food was excellent, as was the service. It is located...More

My boyfriend and I had the set menu, and it was the best food we've had in such a long time at a reasonable price. Every dish was amazing - the fish soup was the best we've ever had. Couldn't fault!

We were exceedingly lucky to get into this restaurant, as we didn't have reservations. We showed up when the restaurant opened, at 5:30, hoping to get in. This place does not disappoint. We had a gourmet meal half the price of the former evening at...More

We stopped by at 6:30 without a reservation and were lucky that they had a 9pm spot open. Totally worth the wait! We both had the 5 course lamb option and were not only pleased with the quality of the dishes but also the serving...More
