This restaurant was within walking distance of CenterHotel Midgardur where we were staying. The ratings that the restaurant has received have not been exaggerated. The first night that we went, without a reservation, it was fully booked. We did make a reservation for a few...More

The fish soup as an appetizer beautifully complimented the lamb as an entree. Great service, lovely ambiance and delicious food. Very popular with locals and tourists. A great choice.

We had an early dinner after a long day of celebration for the Icelandic team’s World Cup tie with Argentina. Attentive staff and reasonable prices for Reykjavik. Both entrees, salmon and cod, beautifully presented and perfectly cooked.

We booked a table on a Saturday night. The restaurant is quite small. So, I would advise making a reservation. The bread was really good, and was refilled as needed. I had the seafood soup as an appetizer. It was very tasty, although a little...More

We at here in late May 2018. We enjoyed a delicious meal at Resto. It is a bit outside the immediate downtown area on the first floor of a commercial building, with ample parking in the immediate area. The food was delicious and fairly priced...More

We eat a lot of lamb, but feel we have now been ruined. My husband said “Where are we going to be able to get lamb this good?” Fish soup excellent as well.

Cute, romantic little place. Their “famous fish soup” absolutely lives up to the hype. My husband and I both got the ling and langoustine for our main course and it was amazing. Finished it off with the fig ice cream for dessert... overall quite the...More

This small, cozy place slightly off the beaten path in Reykjavik, about 3 blocks from Hlemmur, is one of the best restaurants you'll find in the city. The fish soup is off the charts and don't skip the scallops as a starter. Both the lamb,...More

Dining there was a nice experience. Service is friendly and efficient, with perfect English speaking. The food is very good. Nothing extraordinary, but really nice. Scallops, salmon and panacotta were just fine. Not the cheapest option certainly but quite reasonable for Reykjavík (8700 kr for...More

Chef Johann Helgi Johannsson and his wife Ragnheidur Helen Edvardsdottir own and manage Resto. Johann has built up a great reputation for quality cooking in other restaurants in Reykjavik so they decided to follow their dreams and open their own restaurant. The atmosphere is friendly and there is much effort put into the food.
