About
Chef Johann Helgi Johannsson and his wife Ragnheidur Helen Edvardsdottir own and manage Resto. Johann has built up a great reputation for quality cooking in other restaurants in Reykjavik so they decided to follow their dreams and open their own restaurant. We had a lovely meal here, my husband got to complete his taste tour by having the shark as a starter. The fish soup and cod were amazing. Only slight downside is that it is quite hard to see the restaurant, no big signed etc....More

We had dinner here this week and found the food very good and the atmosphere very comfortable and warm. The service is a little slow but not bad when you are lingering over a great meal. I think that it would be a fine place...More

Went here on our first night in the city. Nice decor. Good pleasant staff. We had the five course fish taster menu which was excellent. At my top end of costs but it is Iceland!

Lovely ambience in this small but cosy restaurant. Good for special occasions such as we were celebrating. We had the 5 course fish menu which was beautifully presented and each course delicious. It is expensive but no more so than elsewhere in this country. An...More

Food was very nice, particularly the fish soup/stew. Lamb was very nice, but some better seasoning (salt) would've made it that much better. I like the space quite a bit, intimate and lovely. Very much a "local" restaurant, which actually was rather nice.

Just 200 metres from our Centrehotel Midgardur is this very good restaurant. We ate here on our second night. The food was great and the service excellent (such long legs!). It is equal with Rok and only beaten by 3 Frakkar.

A little off the beaten track, we found this smart outfit on TA and it didn't disappoint. Dimly lit, single source of light over each table makes it very intimate and cosy. The food was very tasty. Portions are well sized and service was quick....More

We were staying in the hotel opposite and based on the trip advisor reviews popped in on the off chance. The place was small and looked closed from the outside, however didn’t dissapoint. The staff spoke fluent English and were very accommodating. The menu was...More

We made a reservation via the restaurants website the day before to be on the safe side - the restaurant is small and obviously popular so we didn't want to miss out! Making a reservation was easily done via email. The restaurant itself is a...More
