My husband and I tried to eat here with our little girl while vacationing in Reykjavik. We stood by the door waiting to be seated while being ignored. At least 3 staff looked our way at the door and didn’t even acknowledge us.More

Hi Jonesemi This is horrible to read and comes as a shock. It is very much implemented both in our systems and protocols that no matter how slow we might get, for example on a January mid day (sense we are open all day long),...More

Our lunch consisted of Danish beer, smorgasbord sandwiches, one with ham, one with roasted duck, and one with roasted lamb, all had different toppings on each. This was a busy place but the noise was not very loud. Definitely recommend for everyone from couples to...More

Stopped here to enjoy the Scandinavian open sandwiches. Great choice with pictures on the lunch menu. We both enjoyed different fish toppings on our sandwiches, they were both delicious and of a good size for lunch. The chocolate cake for desert was also very tasty....More

Traditional Scandinavian food. Not super familiar with Scandinavian cuisine, so wouldn’t be able to verify this. Tasted great to me, but not everyone in my party liked it. A bit too traditional maybe? Friendly service. Tourist prices.

Staff was absolutely fantastic. I always like to ask for their own recommendations, and since the menu has a lot to offer, this was important. They recommended us a few dishes that we found absolutely amazing, topped with the drinks they also recommended us. It...More

Welcome to Jómfrúin, the home of Danish smørrebrød in Iceland. It all began in 1888 with Oscars Davidsen’s highly praised smørrebrød restaurant in Copenhagen. Today, in Reykjavík, "Jómfrúin" stands for the best in Danish smørrebrød. An unbroken tradition of quality and Danish culinary culture for the past 100 years. Essentially an open-faced sandwich usually featuring rye sourdough bread, smørrebrød presents different combinations of seafood, meat, vegetables and condiments, and is typically enjoyed with a cold local beer and snaps (aquavit). Enjoy!
