We went on a Sunday when they had an all-you-can-eat buffet on. The soups were delicious and they had a huge range of fish and meat on offer. The lamb was the most tender I’ve ever had. Very reasonable price for what we ate. Friendly staff with good English. Definitely worth visiting on a buffet day

We had burger and chips, it was nice, slightly over priced but most food in Iceland is to eat out. The staff were not the happiest we encountered, but maybe it was a bad day. Probably better burgers around for the price.

In this restaurant they serve lunch buffet on good price . It’s good way for tourist, because you’ll get salad, bread, soup, warm dishes for one price. We tried really delicious lamb there.

This is one of Reykjavik oldest restaurants, famous for its hamburgers, whishbone sandwitch and the daily lunch buffet. The new ownership has turned this restaurant into a horror cusine, where everything is faked, bad smelling and strange tasting. Hamburgers delivered to table as 50 gr only half the diameter of the bread bunnet, overcooked and stale french fires, fish and chips smelling like something really dead long time ago, guests turning in there dishes allaround discussed. A bad night in the kitchen or a non-interested management. Dont know and it doesent matter. There is a petrol station further down the road with desent hamburgers, the restaurant next door is quite good and the chinese restaurant on the next corner is actually serving food. Getting in is hard as the door is hardly moveable.. take that as a message and go somewhere else.

I really did not like when I was ordering that the Waiter was asking me how much I ate at the salad bar and I was not supposed to take the main course on a take away. When I went to the restaurant I thought I did not need to worry about the amounts you can eat at a salad bar I just wannted to eat 2-3 plates and also 25% of the salad bar was empty when I went there. So I did not enjoy eating at the resturant I was stressed out eating my main course feeling like a crimminal. To tourist that are visiting iceland I would recommend some other places with either better prices or quality.

We visited Brasserie Askur on our final night in Reykjavik. All of the other eateries had offered lovely food but seemed incredibly expensive. Brasserie Askur was within a 5 minute walk of our hotel and it had been recommended to us. The atmosphere was lovely in the restaurant, the music was incredibly calming and the staff were very pleasant and friendly. The food we received was divine! By far the best we’d had whilst in Iceland. There was a huge range of options on the menu and everything was cooked to perfection. The cost of our meals was half that of what we had paid at other establishments, during our stay. If we were to travel to Reykjavik again, we would 100% visit Brasserie Askur.

We visited twice for an evening meal during our short stay in Reykjavik, once when it was fairly quiet and once when much busier; we really enjoyed it both times. The staff were all friendly and very helpful (lots more staff were working on the busier evening, so service worked just as well). There was a wide choice of different foods on the menu. The food was lovely: nicely cooked, full of flavour and presented in an appealing way. We hadn't expected the soup and salad bar (to help yourself as part of the price of the meal) - there were two soups and a large number of salads - we each tried a different soup on both occasions and they were all substantial and nicely flavoured. Some items on the menu were quite expensive but the fish and lamb options (at least three of each on the menu) were very good value. We would definitely recommend Askur as a place to eat in Reykjavik; the fact that we visited twice was because it was so good!

20/10 don’t recommend.
Unwelcoming from the start. Food is aweful. My husband just described it as “Golden Corral quality, if you paid $70 for one dish”.
We noticed the Viking Cruise Line symbol on the window walking in, I’m not sure if this is why there were so many great reviews online - then everyone around us were eating burgers - which do look nice.
I’m sitting at my table in the restaurant writing this review and all the servers who have entered orders in the computer RIGHT NEXT us haven’t even asked why I’m not eating my $70 “filet” that tasted like shoe leather.

Not a restaurant that necessarily caters to tourists, more a place where locals go.
Menu with something for everyone although I kept going back to the "fish of the day" each of the three times we ate at Askur. The fish was prepared perfectly and this meal includes the soup and salad bar which had excellent mushroom soup and homemade bread.
We had different servers on each visit but everyone was friendly and the service was top-notch. Food was delicious and reasonably priced for Iceland.
If you are staying at the Hilton or one of the nearby hotels within walking distance of this establishment it's a no-brainer go-to for dinner or lunch.

So at the last minute we wandered in on valentines night to have a steak and leg of lamb.
First surprise was oh the salad bar and soup is included with those meals have what you like. So we did soup was lovely, fresh baked bread and salad.
Then the mains turned up and they were both excellent. I took a picture mid way through, they were large portions and we struggled to finish. Had no room for desert.
Would recommend, the burgers, ribs and fajitas delivered around us were also big portions and everyone enjoyed there meals.
Can’t recommend it enough.

We ate here twice during our 6 night stay in Reykjavik and enjoyed both meals immensely. The menu choices are varied and offer good choices for any palate. The drawback is the service, which almost seemed ambivalent to diners being in the restaurant. Even this annoying problem would not keep me from returning.

It was New years Eve, so you expect to pay a bit more. It was basically a UK Toby Carvery meal for ten times the price for three, with minimal drinks
Only highlight was the lovely waitress, from the countryside, who used to manage Iceland horses and distill her own potato spirit. Top marks she was lovely and lifted the place

My husband and I just got done eating at a restaurant we were really unsatisfied with and we really wanted a dessert and a hot drink. This place was absolutely phenomenal. I made fun of my husband for getting the boring apple pie but his turned out to be even better than my chocolate cake. It literally melted in your mouth! The hot chocolate was so rich and creamy. I definitely recommend going here for some dessert!

We came in to try the brunch buffé but have NEVER gotten as horrible food ever.
We have gone far and wide and had some "intresting" brunch before.
They are charging over 30$ per person and ita NOT worth it.
I cauld go into great detail about the food but it would take to long.

I had to wait 30-40 minutes until they finally took our order and then the same amount of time for our food I was about one and a half hour there to get a wrong burger and then when I got the correct one it was not good. It costed me 2500, I would not go there again. I felt like throwing up afterwards
