You know? I was hesitant to even try Italian food in Reykjavik. We needn’t have worried: each of the three of us ordered something different, and everything was simply phenomenal. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the roasted salmon was the real deal, all the vegetables...were flawlessly sautéed… And the service was absolutely top notch; we were attended to by five different people, and they were always checking that things were OK. All told, this may have been the best Italian meal we have had anywhere, which is pretty high praise, since I come originally from Brooklyn and grew up with Italian food made by actual Italian immigrants.More

It’s a cute little place off the shopping area. The spaghetti was tasteful and very good. Maybe there are better places in Reykjavik but this is a nice try out. I did not try anything else, but the portion was large.

The attitude and service of the waiter was really bad. Nonchalant and complete uninterested in his guests. Food was ok but not more than that. Asked another female waiter to lower the music somewhat and got the reply. We might be able to do that...for only 30 min but was not done. We visited early evening Wednesday and it was completely empty.More

so sorry to hear that, I don´t know where were you seated, we have many rooms and spaces and not every where is possible to fill the requests of our guests. Most of our guests come not once but many days in a row and...More

We planned our team meeting at Caruso. 11 people that would like to have a great evening with good food. Our reservation apparently got lost (we called them 4 days before). That can happen and is of course bot great for the restaurant. they set...up a table for us, But when we came they were super rude and I guess the main waiter was the worst. He did not welcome us but told me 3 times basically that we are not welcome but he anyway set up a table for us.I felt very bad and not welcome there. I was about to just leave and spend the money somewhere where we would be appreciated. Waiters at the table were amazing and friendly and food was great. I decided to talk to them after the dinner and when I went there to thank them that they made it possible for us and that we would for sure come again, the main waiter rolled his eyes and disappeared and the rest was just unfriendly as before. It seems they do not need the local guests and some of those people should definitely not work in a service Job. I cannot recommend this place , I am very sorry!More

so sorry to hear, that was totally our mistake, for some reason your reservation got lost in the system and the main host was sick this evening, so it was a lot of stress and the waiter didn´t handle it well, so one more time...More

After eight days touring Iceland, this made a nice change from the typical Icelandic menu of cod, lamb or beef. The food was excellent, service friendly and prompt. No wonder they get fully booked well in advance. The seafood pasta dishes were superb and, although...we didn’t have one, the pizzas looked great.More

Suggested by locals, three of us had a three/four course meal and each dish was well presented and prepared. Wine selection was varied and well thought out. The lobster soup, salad, roast lamb rack, and chocolate liquid pudding/cake and the other desserts were so so...delicious.More

Really nice pizza, staff were friendly and welcoming while the atmosphere of the building has a very nice homely vibe to it. It’s also a former courthouse dating back from when Iceland was a province of Denmark, and has a very nice quaint vibe and...look to it. With my bill I got a nice little leaflet detailing the history of the building, which I think is a very nice touch. I highly recommend this place and hope to go again when I am back in Iceland.More

Stumbled across Caruso on the first day of our holiday and what a find. We arrived at the tail end of lunch and they couldn't have provided better service. So much so we returned on another 2 occasions. The food is phenomenal and as crazy...as it may sound the jam and 4 cheese pizza was a revelation. On every occasion the staff were just lovely and highly recommend.More

A cosy and cute Italian in the heart of Reykjavik. We found the food to be delicious and authentic, with very generous portions. Staff a little standoffish but they were busy. The seafood in particular is recommended, and the cheesy garlic bread! Overall, a very...enjoyable evening.More

We stumbled across this by accident and loved it so much we went 3 times on a 4 night stay! The seafood and pasta was mouth watering and we couldn't fault any of the dishes that we had. A 4 cheese pizza with some raspberry...game - not something that you would naturally put together but just AMAZING!! Service was second to none and I thought it was a decent price for ReykjavikMore
