I love the food at Caruso, it is that good that it does not matter what you order, but this time it took over an hour to get the food and it was kind of cold. The service was good, but the waiter seemed stressed and unsecure. Even though we had this experience this time I will return to Caruso... More

We were a group of 12 that went by this nice looking yellow building down town Reykjavik. Once inside we were met by the owner who said he could fix a long table upstairs for 12 people. Our one condition for accepting the offer was that each of us could select individually from the menu (which was not the case... More

Had lunch earlier (day before the marathon) and I enjoyed it immensely. Really well priced for Iceland, and the quality of food and size of portion. I had a lovely penne pasta with chicken and mushrooms in a tomato based sauce. Staff were excellent and the venue itself is lovely

Nice Italian restaurant. Food was nice although a touch slow on getting to the table. Otherwise it was alright. Expensive? For what we had, yes, but everything is expensive in Iceland.

Excellent starter of mozarella and cheese. The main courses of pizza and catch of the day were very tasty. House wine was satisfying! Staff were not as authentically friendly as other eateries in the capital. It seemed a bit forced. The dessert and brandy took almost 20 minutes to arrive with no explanation. These are my two rooms for improvement.... More

For our last night of five in Reykjavik, we decided to see how the rack of lamb in Iceland was. Caruso's did a fabulous job of preparing and serving a flavorful dish. It was preceded by one of the best bowls of lobster soup we have ever had. The lamb serving was generous (five ribs) and the accompaniments on the... More

Caruso's is more than a prototypical Italian restaurant. There are certainly a number of traditional Italian offerings, but there are also many non-traditional meat and fish offerings as well. The restaurant is easy to find, and is situated in close proximity to one of the few cab stands in Reykjavik, which makes it convenient. The interior is charming, although it... More
