We came here on our 2nd night and it is such a gem of a place. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The complimentary bread was incredible. The decor was beautiful. The food was incredibly tasty and the portion sizes were extremely generous. A...huge plus is that for the quality of the food the price is so reasonable. The scallop starter and pork belly main are a must. My only gripe is the house white wine was extemely vinegary. If I could have gone back I would have done this place was extremely good!!More

This is a hotel restaurant, but with a separate entrance so the hotel business does not intrude on the restaurant experience. The menu is limited, but everything we had was of a high standard. I would especially recommend the lamb. Wine list did not offer...expensive wines, but rather a selection of moderately priced wines. Service was good and personal, and the acoustics are great - you can talk to everyone at your table in a normal voice. Definitely recommended.More

Stopped in here for dinner, there were 4 of us. We had beer and soup and salad. The bread served with butter on a lava rock was special! Excellent service!

Solid effort, needs some small adjustments. Very understated and situated in the basement of a hotel.

Went for dinner upon check-in. Very welcoming staff. There were no other customers, and it was 8pm. Very good service. Impressed with the very cute lava rocks/butter. The artic char with carrot foam (and it did taste like carrots) and topped with some strange black...flecks which I later found it is lava salt. Husband enjoyed lamb rump. Like every restaurant in Iceland, it is over-the-top expensive -- you just have to accept that. Except for the good & hot coffee, we did not enjoy the sub-standard buffet breakfastMore

Excellent food and service. The staff was polite, helpful and professional. The food - especially the scallops and the sorbet - was the best we had while in Reykjavik. Should I ever travel back to Iceland, I'd definitelly visit there again.

We arrived in Iceland and booked the tasting dinner at Isafold without any expectations. The ambiance was great, the staff very friendly and the food was a good representation of Icelandic food.

Iceland is famous for being expensive for tourists. We had the pork belly and Arctic char, followed by the éclair and panacotta: refined and delicious. Our bill came to around €50 which is what I’d have paid in Paris for that quality. Friendly, attentive service,...slices of fresh bread served with the meal. Thank you!More

My sister and I stumbled across this place after a very disappointing experience at another restaurant (in which we placed 3 different orders and all 3 times the waiter had to return to tell us that item was out of stock). Boy, were we glad...that we found Isafold! Place was classy, nicely decorated, quiet, and our waitress, Grace, was amazing - very friendly, knowledgeable, and patiently answered all of our questions. My sister had the monkfish, I had Arctic char, which came beautifully plated with carrots and a carrot foam. Even the butter (served on lava rocks with fresh bread) was delicious and nicely presented. For dessert we had a really good skyr dish with chocolate, berries, and homemade meringue. And unlike many of the other restaurants in Iceland, we didn’t suffer sticker shock from the price. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the next day for lunch before going to the airport (and to say goodbye to Grace!). For lunch my sister had the chicken salad and it came with enormous chunks of juicy chicken breast. I had the fish soup, which was a bit smaller but better than what I’d had at other restaurants. In our two weeks in Iceland, this restaurant was one of the best places we ate. Definitely worth a stop (or two)!More

A lovely restaurant within the CenterHotel, a little hard to spot as the sign is set high and the hotel is fronted on a side street. This is NOT your ordinary hotel dining spot. Though it has a slightly limited menu, our group of 6...had a great assortment of dishes, each of them elegantly plated and quite tasty with a foodie flair! The prices are comparable to many in the area, great for a date night or a couples get together. The atmosphere was modern but cozy with a spa like quality and the wait staff was friendly, the service prompt. The hot food was hot when served and the bread was tasty and very fresh! We had a three course dinner. I would happily go back, if not for the 5 1/2 hour flight to get there!More
