During Covid restrictions, it is difficult for restaurants to keep upbeat and maintain standards. Many places I have eaten in this week managed just that but not Kol. Despite its great reputation, service by an all male staff was unfriendly and cold... that coldness even...found its way into their signature fish soup which was served luke warm... presumably not intentionally. For this level of reputation and pricing, you would expect more.More

The beef tenderloin was fantastic, carpaccio different and tasty and the rest delicious. Recommend the small course menu.

The staff didn't seem to mind our slippered attire even though we did get som odd lokks from the other guests who were eating there - we assume they were local people. The Restautrant was afine dining place and we enjoyed bothe the food and...the service and we think the price was good.More

Went there to eat dinner with a friend. The place it self was ok. The servent was not sure when I described my taste in wine and came back with totally wrong for my taste. And the food was not good. Undercoocked fish. I will...not coming back. I bealive the place has had their best years.More

I came there with a group of ladies on a nice Sunday for brunch. We opted for the "full brunch menu" which included a few set courses, an apperol spritz cocktail to start with and as much prosecco or mimosas as you wanted. The food...was excellent and the service as well. Our waiter kept the prosecco flowing steadily during our stay there so we all left with a big smile on our faces (and full tummies). The restaurant itself is very cozy and decorated in a very tasteful way. The atmosphere in there is somehow more suitable for a winter mood than summer but that is debatable of course and has nothing to do with great service and food :)More

We've been here a few times and always been very satisfied with the food and the service as well. Unfortunately today's "luxury brunch" was a disappointment. Strange combination of food in all senses and none of the courses was very exiting. I will exclude the...passion fruit ice cream in the last course, that was delicious! No bread or juice was included in the set menu, which was over-prized in my opinion.More

Haven't eaten here, less some delicious bar snacks while having a drink, but this place must serve the best cocktails in Reykjavik. Superb barman (Martyn) mixes perhaps the finest whisky sour I've tasted (ask for the absinthe version), and a whole range of other spectacular...cocktails. Beautiful bar, great atmosphere.More

I live in the Reykjavík area and I simply have to say that here is where I get the best food ín Reykjavík. I have been to Kol for dinner several times and I am always superhappy with both the food and the service. The...atmosphere is very cosy and romantic, but also perfect to go for cocktails with friends. I really love this place so I felt after my last visit that I really had to give it a review :)More
