About
Le Bistro is a small authentic French bistro and wine bar on Laugavegur, Reykjavik's main shopping street. Serving moderately-priced (for Iceland), classic and contemporary French food along with a great selection of wine and beer. As you step into this casual, lively and bohemic place, the French atmosphere is unavoidable. We serve slow food, with mostly local Icelandic ingredients. This is likely the only the place in the centre with a walk in policy, so you will probably only have to wait a few minutes for a table. Groups of six and more are welcome to book ahead. Bienvenue et bon appetit...

Great bistro with a great selection of food.Beautiful interior, cosy place, and great food.Extensive French and Icelandic menu.Very nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Good pricing compared to other similar category restaurants on Laugavegur. I would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Reykjavik.

We really enjoyed the food at this restaurant - we chose from the Icelandic specials. We had the Salmon and the Lamb Shank - both were delicious. Followed by the Icelandic style Tiramisu which was to die for! We would highly recommend!

The decor in Le Bistro is French, pleasant and creates a cosy atmosphere with candles. We were served quickly and staff were nice enough. The food arrived incredibly quickly, at a guess within ten minutes of ordering which I find a bit off putting. Personally...More

We chose the three course set menu option. One of us had the Icelandic one, the other the french option. It was beautiful and there was nothing that I could fault with the food and there was plenty of it as well. Service was fabulous...More

We ordered the Icelandic “sveita” fondue which from the description sounded to us (and still does) like oil fondue which you fry pork and have sides of assorted cheeses and mushrooms. It came as a cheese fondue with some bacon bits and one chopped mushrooms....More

This clearly was a misunderstood and your choice to express your anger on social networks saddens us. 'Sveita fondue' is actually very popular and a delicious fusion. We recommend it! 'Fondue with a mix of Icelandic cheese, chopped roasted Icelandic saddle of pork (hamborgarhryggur), mushroom...More
