Staff unable to correctly take order at the till resulted in group member not getting the main part of their meal, then other staff walk round with AirPods in whilst serving food. Small portions of food, left feeling hungry. Less than ideal.

Casual restaurant where you place your order at the cash register, take a seat and they bring the food to you. While the food was good (ordered appetizers and main dishes), the portions are really small so we left hungry, unfortunately. Good beer selection.

Small card but very good fish. The Plokkari (traditional Icelandic gratinated Fish with potatos) was really good. Definitely worth trying. Fish and chips also very delicious. Big servings.

Fried cod with fries and lemon wedges. Sauces are extra and quite expensive and unnecessary. Free malt vinegar on the silverware station. The 2 pieces of cod are pretty big. Offers self-serve, free excellent Icelandic tap water. Pleasant 60s-80s Rock music and seafaring art gives it a retro vibe. Clean restrooms. Not wheelchair accessible restrooms and can eat at the bar along the window although I think it might be a bit too high. We wanted to eat Icelandic cod. Kinda like a huge piece of Gorton’s. Like all other food in Iceland not inexpensive.

The fish and chips we had was very good. The batter is light and the fish was not mushy as I've seen some people say. It wasn't cheap, but then NOTHING in Iceland is cheap. Took a little longer than I thought it should considering we there well past lunchtime, but it was hot and the chips (fries) were crisp.

We dropped in here for a quick dinner one evening during our vacation. Visited based on the location to out accommodations. The place packed which i though would make the food good. I was so wrong, you go to the register order, they give you a # for you to put on you table then they bring you the food. Our food arrived looking very good, however... it was lacking any flavor. Service was slow and the food was mediocre at best.

We are at both locations (Tryggvagata and Frakkastígur) Frak is the better choice - cleaner, better prepared food. Learned to manage the bowl and avoid having greasy fingers. Trygg had lots of tourists (including us) and Frak appeared to have more locals.

If you have chapped lips, don't hesitate to have a properly greasy fish and chips, served in a plastic bowl, and you won't need a Labello balm 😅 Bad fish, tasteless fries, no specific sauce, you have to get your own cutlery… and it’s very expensive. In short, to have eaten in other restaurants on the island, it is really low-end tourist traps that you absolutely must avoid. I pity the frozen fish for ending their lives in this establishment by the sea: with a miracle, they could have reached the ocean and escaped this place 🤣 (Good luck to those who come anyway)

We have had good experiences with the restaurant by the harbor for many years and tried Frakkastígur for a quick lunch. Fish and chips for 5 was a disappointment, didn't really taste like anything and we've had regurgitation all day with an aftertaste of frying oil. The place itself is dark and quite dirty. No recommendation from here.

My husband & I had fish & chips tonight which were quite nice. However the rude & unfriendly manner of the young lady behind the counter diminished the enjoyment of the dinner. The meal came out in a timely manner which is a plus. However the young man who delivered the meal to our table had his ear plug & didn’t say one word. As we left the restaurant, both employees were huddled together on a seat behind the counter. Overall a disappointing experience.

The fish and chips here were average at best. They didn’t have a ton of flavor. The place was very busy and they only had two employees working. My spouse and I had to clean and bus our own table before we sat down, and it took about 30 minutes to finally receive our food. We won’t be returning a second time especially since our stay here in Iceland is short.

We visited the location on Skólavörðustígur a few times during our stay in Reykjavik and the food was consistently excellent. The fish and chips in particular were great, but we also tried the other fish dishes on the menu and we were never disappointed. Service is good and fast, and yes it's pricey but so is everything in Reykjavik.

This was a very omfortable setting in the a central location. Started with delicious and well presented Mussels, The Miso Black Cod was not spicy at all, just a wonderful flavor. Artic Char had a great blend of flavors. All the dishes were fair priced. The service was excellent.

If your from the UK and enjoy proper fish and chips you will likely be a bit disappointed here. The fish was nice but heavily battered and quite greasy. The chips were frozen and more like fries than proper chips. Bit of a disappointment for us but we are spoiled as we do live in the UK by the sea, with some of the best fish and chips in the world.

Fish and chips were really fresh and delicious. For 2 fish and chips and 2 coke it cost around £46. I would not say this is badly priced as at the beach in the UK you would pay around £15 per portion. This was some of the best food we had in Reykjavik would highly recommend.
