Dirty place, staff was not proactive, just did what they had to do. Dirty floors, dirty and smelly toilets. Yes, not the most fun part of you job, but it’s part of the job. We were there on sunday 26th of july 2022. One girl...was constantly checking her phone, another girl was wiping the tables, moving around slowly and sighing all the time. Manager: you can do better, the fact that you are running the oldest restaurant in Reykjavik is nor enough to be succesful. More connection staff and visitors would be welcome.More

Really good food. I ate a soup which was delicious. My son ate fish and chips. His fish was of really high quality. I like the old feeling of the place. The down side is the pricing of the food.

We stopped here on our way out of town and loved it. Reminded us as a simple diner along the water. Gray view of the harbor and the cathedral. Had an omelette and it was huge and fluffy. One of the best I ever had....My wife had porridge deluxe with fruit and really enjoyed it. Definitely a locals spot. Would eat here again.More

Kaffivagninn is slightly hidden behind the Maritime Museum, but offers great views onto the harbor in Reykjavik. The breakfast itself is outstanding - Icelandic smoked salmon with eggs and toast was great and for 500 IK the unlimited filter coffee means that it's a favorite...with locals. Get there early for a table!More

The oldest restaurant in Reykjavik did not disappoint. The food was great and reasonably priced. Gorgeous view of the harbor and fun listening to a group of Icelandic gentlemen enjoying their coffee and each other’s company. Highly recommend!

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local and certainly was well used by the locals when we visited. Always a good sign. The setting is superb on the edge of the harbour. The food and service were both first class and the prices...are very reasonable. Would definitely recommend to visit here if you can do so.More

A long standing restaurant for a reason. The menu isn’t long but the quality is clear to see. Lovely calming atmosphere and the food was exceptional.

My mom and I stopped here for breakfast on our first day in Iceland from the airport. The view was nice, overlooking the water. Parking was free and close by. The staff was friendly. I enjoyed my cappuccino. My breakfast was delicious as well. The...price is a little high for me, but the view made up for it.More

My husband got fish and chips which were fabulous, and I got fish croquettes with potatoes and a salad. With these entrees, we got the mushroom soup I've ever eaten, bread, and coffee and water. The food was scrumptious, but the best part is that...this restaurant is where locals in Reykjavik eat. I think we were the only tourist in the place.More

We decided to stop here because an old Icelander lady told us, while we were walking, that this place had low price and good food. We ordered 1 fish stew and 1 Odin's fish soup, plus drinks, and spent around 45€. Food was good -...especially the Odin's soup, kind of heavy but tasty- and the staff was friendly. A good place where to stop on a cold/rainy dayMore
