We knew we wanted to visit this little cafe on our trip to Reykjavik as it’s used in the artwork for the John Grant album “Pale Green Ghosts” and we’re big fans. We managed to get the perfect table (the one used in the artwork)...More

In the city for 2.5 days our group of 9 must have visited this place at least 2x a day for coffees, mochas, hot cocoas, and (of course) baked treats! Warm and cosy place to spend a bit of time!! We loved it.

My partner and I enjoyed two lovely mochas and an apple pie at this cosy, welcoming cafe. They were gorgeous! We loved the little touches - a place to hang your coat, a choice between a small table or a booth, and a lovely choice...More

Stop by for a nice and cozy breakfast. They have limited options but I would suggest to try their coffee for sure. It definitely has a cool vibe.

Really loved Mokka. It has a different style than most restaurants and coffee shops. Read that it has remained the same since they opened in 1958. What goes around comes around because it looks sleek and modern- intentionally mid century, but this time it's authentic....More

Yes, it's stripped back and low key. Yes it's got those great little booths that make for good conversation with friends. Yes it makes really good coffee. It's relaxing, has original art on the walls, and you can just hang out there in the subdued...More

I learned about this place from the NYT 36 hours in Reykjavik. Totally worth stopping in for breakfast! I read that they haven’t really changed the inside since it opened in the 50’s so it definitely had a cool vibe. The coffee was delicious and...More

An Icelandic tradition since 1958. Mokka is one of Reykjavik's oldest cafés and the first to install an espresso machine and serve espresso, cappuccino, and café latte in Iceland. There's a tempting selection of sandwitches, cakes, and the coffee and hot chocolate are excllent with their famous house waffles, served with cream and jam. The déckor - red carpet, leatherette booths and stools - hasn't changed much althought the art on the walls is changed every 4-6 weeks as the café has doubled as an Art gallery with new art for sale since opening.
