On our last night in Reykjavik and we were happily surprised to to have dinner at the Steikhúsið. We had the mixed starter plate as an appetizer which included the short ribs, tuna, and octopus. Such a perfect start to the evening. Then for dinner...we had Surf ́n Turf which was whale and horse, horse tenderloin, and dry aged black angus ribeye. The horse was so tender it melted in your mouth, the whale was interesting, and ribeye was amazing!!! Dessert was the pistacchio crème brulée, and apple cobbler. Both were winners!!!!Everything was cooked perfectly and Daniel was so helpful and spot on with his recommendations. Would highly recommend this restaurant!!!!More

Always on the look out for steak, we headed here on the first day of our trip. The food was sublime. We both had different steaks but both cooked to perfection. A variety of side options made the meal very filling. We both left very...happy and content.More

The atmosphere was nice and the waiters very polite and helpful. We asked to change table because we were assigned to one next to the door and icelandic springs can be quite chilly :) we were changed place and had good suggestions for food. I...personally ordered the horse tenderloin with a broccoli side and the meal was 5stars! My friends confirmed the beef as well was very good :) highly recommended! 👌More

We visited as a family of four, all steak lovers and were glad we did. We only had time for main course, but to be honest, were full after just that one course. The steak was delicious and perfectly cooked to each of our tastes....It is expensive though. Four steaks, two beers, four Coca Cola's and one juice came to c£240 when converted into UK £. Worth it though!More

We visited without a reservation and were seated no problem. The service was quality, staff were lovely and the meal was the best we have ever eaten. We ordered a sharing starter and a t bone and tenderloin steak, we have never had a steak...like it, the best ever. The wine list was amazing. I would give this place top marks and would absolutely come here again.More

We approached the restaurant without reservations in Saturday evening and they manage to get a table for us in 20 minutes. Large variety of dishes, typical Iceland kitchen as well. Staff is kind and nice and the atmosphere very nice. Not far away from the...main streets in the city.More

We did not book ahead because we had a tour in the day and at night. We popped into this place since it was very near our hotel. The host was a bit rude greeting us at the door, since we had not reserved, otherwise...I would have given it 5 stars. The food and drinks were absolutely incredible. I had lamb and my guy had beef. The Grapefruit Gin and Tonic I won't soon forget! Definitely some of the tastiest food in Iceland!More

Excellent steak- I had the rib eye with garlic butter (plenty of it!). The staff were really helpful in their recommendations- wine, cuts of meat etc. They also had chocolate block (red wine) on the menu which was a big plus. The waiters had created...their own cocktails which our group tried and were reported as delicious. Restaurant was quite hot, but atmosphere was good.More

I had the 50 day dry aged ribeye. Usually I struggle to find a strong enough flavour in American meat but this was cooked to perfection and was very tasty due to the ageing and good credentials of the producing farm. I’m really really fussy...about steak as it’s my favourite meal. The lamb fillet was outstanding. Sides and sauces were lovely too.More

The atmosphere, ambiance and busy nature of this steakhouse have you believing you are in a standard steak house. Don't be fooled, the food is absolutely amazing. I had the most amazing starter I have ever had in my life, it was delicious, delicate and...every mouthful was amazing.More

We booked last minute before a northern lights tour after Googling and Googling where to go! This is actually the best restaurant I’ve ever had the pleasure of going too. The food is amazing and my husband tried to the horse and whale plate which...he had been dying to try whilst in Iceland didn’t disappoint! I had the premium ribeye and the most delicious skyr dessert! The waiter we had was so attentive and so welcoming (tall brown hair brown eyes) we didn’t get his name as we had to run out the door but he should be commended for his excellent service. Please do not hesitate to book this gem! Would come back to Iceland just to visit this restaurant.More
