This is a very good restaurant with great service. Food was excellent, meat platter great and was enough for 4 persons if you get a sushi platter also. Volcano sushi and surf and turf very very good. They also have a great mojito ( Pornstar ;) )

I was eager to try an Icelandic slant on sushi, and Social Sushi didn't disappoint. My husband and I each ordered the Icelandic Feast. Very surprised to find out how tasty puffin and whale are. The lamb was also extraordinary. Our waitress, Elin, was very attentive, helpful and pleasant. It was all a little pricey, but it was our big... More

The waitresses were adorable and sweet. They brought us extra tastes of sushi and Iceland drinks. The langoustine tempura was perfect! Loved the fun decor and the people.

Super service and great sushi. We got the food quick and it tasted fantastic. The restaurant is cosy, but a bit noisy. We loved the meal and would come back over and over again if we lived in Reykjavik.

Very good food but not too fine dine. Liked very much. Also the meat is good, maybe even better than sushi.

Great Japanese Icelandic fusion! We had a great meal and the service was spectacular. After a last minute reservation change the host Svaver was very accommodating and even brought us complementary appetizers while we were waiting for our food. It was a birthday celebration and Elin, our waitress, made sure to give us complementary dessert. Great food, great service and... More

I was in Iceland for 3 days with my husband and made a trip to sushi social on the first night. Although a sushi restaurant we decided to eat the Steak Platter as we were famished. The steak platter is for sharing (between 2-4 people) and had steak, lamb and even more steak! Needless to say, we had our work... More

Fabulous sashimi platter, tasty sushi and an incredible yggdrasil cocktail (among others...). Busy and bustling on a Friday night at 9pm, this is a cool 'social' sushi joint in the town centre. Its not very Japanese (apart from the superb sashimi) but more of a lively restaurant with music and cocktail bar. We had a short wait for a table... More

Open at the end of 2011 and a hot favorite on the Reykjavik restaurant scene, Sushi Social - samba & grill offers a deliciously unique take on homegrown ingredients, fusing Iceland's freshest flavors with Japanese and South American influences. The menu offers a great selection, tempting smaller courses, traditional and "Juicy- Sushi" , amazing steaks and sweet desserts. If you can't decide what to go for, the Icelandic feast is a perfect solution - six courses form an incredible taste experience that includes the national aperitif 'Brennivin' and an Icelandic Skyr panna cotta for dessert. Fabulous chili mojitos and a gorgeously eclectic interior are the icing on the cake at Sushi Social. Hand- carved Brazilian curios and some 50 pretty Japanese birdcages complement the contemporary lines and gentle feel of the place.
