The initial reason for choosing this restaurant was its close proximity to our hotel. We then looked at the reviews and decided to give it a try on the Saturday evening of our trip, making sure we booked a table in advance.
On arrival, I noted the restaurant was almost full with a nice, buzzing atmosphere. Staff were friendly and we were seated immediately.
After a quick peruse of the menu, we selected the Bruschetta Calabrese and Cantaloupe Salad to start, followed by the Spaghetti Polpette and Spaghetti Scoglio for main. Hubby chose the Tiramisu for dessert, and we each had a soft drink.
I really can't fault any of the food we had. It was presented and cooked well, the portions were very generous, and it all tasted fantastic. I didn't see the bill, but presume an automatic service charge was added (not an issue as we are used to this, and the service we received was deserving of it) on top. Rough cost based on currency conversion at the time puts it around £105 in total. I guess that's average for Reykjavik but we thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it.

After several days eating small servings of fish and lamb, my husband wanted a more filling meal and we found Grazie Trattoria, Very elegant surroundings, with attentive staff and a varied menu. He enjoyed his lasagna while others had pizza, a melon salad (the menu said canteloupe but it actually contained honeydew melon), and shrimp. All were delicious. Highly recommend for a change of pace in Reykjavik.

Great food- we enjoyed pasta and pizza. There were a few unique pizza combinations (as well as the classics) and we loved the peperoni with honey and dates. Staff were very attentive, filling up water no sooner than we finished the previous etc

Top welcome, it feels like being at home!
Friendly, helpful staff who speak Italian. Excellent pizza and pasta with meatballs even more so, highly recommended.
Special thanks to the (I think) chef who also offered us a tiramisu

We were recommended by a friend whilst on holiday in Iceland to visit this restaurant. The food was as expected…. Outstanding. Amazing taste and quality. Sadly the service was poor. Very robotic and impersonal. Quite pretentious. I stated it was my birthday on the reservation and no mention was made or any gesture at all. Not even a happy birthday from the staff. We had booked it specially for this occasion. The menus were incorrect online and in the restaurant and the waiter wasn’t very apologetic about it. The food stated it came with polenta when actually it was potato purée. For the prices we expected better service and diligence in details.very disappointing

Great Italian restaurants in the centre of Reykjavik.
In a beautiful and well-decorated environment, we found a restaurant with very well prepared dishes and even surprising ones.
The service is professional but with a touch of kindness and sympathy.

Visited this restaurant on my husband’s birthday and couldn’t have asked for better food or service. The waiters were extremely friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. We both opted for pasta dishes but the pizzas looked great too. Would definitely return.

It is a very nicely set up restaurant with very friendly service but the food is very poor.
4 pasta meals were served within 5 minutes of being ordered and they were all too hot. Obviously pre prepared and reheated- no al dente here and all the meals were average at best. Worst Italian food I have ever had.
Quite expensive as with everything in Iceland 22000 krona £125 for 4 pasta’s 2 glasses wine 2 soft drinks.

Visited on a Wednesday, busy but not crowded. However, the table was not ready when we came and we were placed in a coach for “five minutes”. After 15 minutes we asked the waiter and she seemed to have forgotten us… placed at the table and had to wait another 15 minutes before the waiter was ready to take our order. More waiting…. Almost 40 minutes from ordering to we had food on our table. The table next to us had the food before us, even though they were seated 30 minutes after us (same number of people). Food was average. Pizza good an tasty, but both the pasta dishes was not very tasty.
For this price we expect more.
Still, the feeling of being invisible was not very welcoming. Find another Italian restaurant, sorry.

The staff made you feel welcome. The food was excellent. As we are finding out Iceland is very expensive especially for wine or cocktails. The food portions were large. We shared a truffle pizza and the charcuterie board and were full. The pizza price was very reasonable though

I was leery at first be ause I was able to get same day prime dinner hour reservations but the reviews looked good so we went and boy, were we pleasantly surprised! My husband and I are light eaters so we shared the light salad and the pepperoni pizza. The pizza was one of the best ones we’ve ever had and we’ve eaten pizzas all over the world! We finished off ours cleanly (which we usually don’t do). We enjoyed it so much that we made reservations for tomorrow night too so we can try their pastas. I truly felt like I hit the jackpot in finding this restaurant on such short notice. The prices were reasonable too given California prices. The wines are a little pricey but not over the top. I would highly rec.

Our first night in Reykjavík we had dinner at Grazie Trattoria, we had made reservations which was a good idea given how busy they were. The food was amazing as was the service, what an awesome staff who looked after us like we were the only people in the restaurant. Who knew you could get such quality Italian food in Iceland.
You will not be disappointed with the food, service and atmosphere.

Had a lovely dinner with my family, 4 adults and 3 children, haven’t tried this restaurant before so we were excited to try it out, we were very impressed.
The food was absolutely delicious, service was fast and attentive and the owner, Jón Arnar came for a chat which was a great treat. Couldn’t recommend this beautiful restaurant enough. Definitely worth the visit.

This restaurant opened a few months ago. It is in a new building one short block off Laugavegur St near many hotels. The interior is gorgeous. There is a mural on the back wall that will make your jaw drop. The ceilings are extremely high and the place is beautifully decorated.
The food is great. If you have children, pasta and pizza are their specialties but they make an osso buco that is tender and delicious. The restaurant is accommodating when asking for small substitutions. There is a decent selection of wines and a great grappa available. The total bill was reasonable both times.
It was so good we decided to go back the next evening.
The maitre d' and the staff are attentive and accessible.
This place is a gem. It was nearly all filled by 7PM on a Wednesday evening. They have a winning "recipe" and I am sure they will secure a loyal following. A mille graze, Grazie Trattoria!!

We started with the Carpaccio, followed by the Spicy Tomato pizza, and almost licked the plates as it was so good! For dessert we had the Tiramisu and it’s without any doubt the best both of us have ever had. The service was very good as well, and the athmosphere felt warm and relaxed even though the restaurant was busy. Will definitely come back.
