This spot came highly recommended by our tour guide, and it did not disappoint! The horse was excellent, and the desserts we tried were all excellent. The ambience was lovely, staff were great, and it was a really lovely evening.

Following a recommendation we booked into Forréttabarinn, we all opted for a tasting menu option even though the whole menu was tempting, needless to say we were not disappointed, each course was very tasty and in proportion, we were full up by the end of...the meal. Great service & patience provided throughout as we took a bit too long deciding what we wanted. Good value also.More

I will try to keep this brief. The best meal we had in Iceland. Possibly the best meal we have had EVER! We went for the taster menu, lobster soup, beef carpaccio, horse and lamb, and desert of absolute dreams. Service brilliant. Atmosphere fabulous. This...was my 50th birthday and I am so glad I went with the recommendation of the food walk guys and chose here over some of the more fine dining places.More

I've been to Iceland now twice. The first time, I was lucky to find Forréttabarinn. Had a fantastic meal then. This time was no different 8 years later. The lobster soup and lamb were phenomenal. I hope to return again one day soon.

Really excellent experience. I have been travelling since mid of eighties in many countries and allways loved to eat well. This "S M O K E Y B A Y" menu was maybe the best dinner I have ever taste in any place. Service was...amazing polite, exceptionally quick and very professional. If I would educate restaurant personals, that would be absolutely example of the place where customer is taken into account as it should be every restaurant.More

The food here was really tasty, and served quickly The staff new a lot about allergens, and the chef kindly completely altered a dish to ensure it was gluten and diary free. My partner thought it was the best meal of the holiday. Highly recommend!

We didn’t like the food very much, it was covered in oil and little taste. The head waiter was great but the other waiter was a bit awkward and didn’t do a good job.

Loved this friendly, welcoming restaurant and bar - great place for both a pre dinner drink and dinner itself - beautifully cooked Icelandic tapas style and larger plates served by charming staff. We went back number of times during our short stay in Reykjavik. Highly...recommended.More

Had a great family dinner after a sunny outdoors day. The restaurant is slightly outside the main streets (less than a km) but certainly worth of few extra steps. Very warm welcome and the staff took a good care of us, despite all tables full...(mainly with locals which is always a good sign) on monday eve. The menu offered wide enough variation of choice with inspiration of international cusine on dishes. Tasty and large plates contained however local ingredients. Nice choice of local bears in tap and wine offer looked also well considered. Great value and service worth to discover.More
