One of my best restaurants by far. This should get a Michelin star rating. Best in service and food and ambience.

This restaurant was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. From appetizer to main course, delicious! The langoustine, the salmon. It was so filling that we did not have room for dessert.

We passed this restaurant on the way to Hallgrimskirkja and very intrigued so we went in for a look which was very pleasing. We made a reservation for 2 days later and it was fabulous. We had a lovely table and a charming waiter who brought 'taster' appetizers. Our meals were delicious & thoroughly enjoyed the ambience of the whole... More

We went there for dinner without booking and although very busy they managed to fit us in. The staff were all very friendly and the food was fantastic. Would definitely return.

We really wanted to try this place on our last night Reykjavik on our first trip to Iceland. We were looking for a nice romantic evening and felt like this was a great choice based on reviews and menu. Boy, were we disappointed. We were seated in the basement area and practically ignored from that point on. Took us awhile... More

Sjavargrillid is one of my favorite places to go if I fancy something sweet and cozy. It has great food presentation and the restaurant is quite cozy. The staff are attentive and friendly. On the downside, the food is bit overly expensive and the restaurant tends to get crowded very easily as it is one of the recommended restaurant in... More

I had read about Sjavargrillid before our trip and I was pleased we were able to get in. Naturally, four tourists walked in w/o a reservation on a weekend evening. Fortunately, two reservations were no-shows and we got seated. The staff was highly tuned into customer service. My group contained multiple food allergies and the waitress made it a point... More

In 2010 a young chef from Húsavík, was awarded Chef of the year 2010 in Iceland. The young chef, Gústav spent months traveling around Iceland looking for the real taste of Iceland, along the way he found a few things that are key items of the interior of the restaurant.Take a look at our menu, it will be our pleasure to fire up the old grill when you honor us with a visit.
