Pub-like resturant with the things you are looking for as a tourist in iceland, touristy but good food and a cozy feel to it.

Food was enjoyable and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. However, it was disappointing to see whale on the menu of an establishment which purports to serve "traditional Icelandic food" as whale is not a traditional Icelandic dish. 96% of whale meat consumed in...Iceland is by tourists and does not come from Iceland but places such as Norway just for tourists. There is no way to humanely kill whales; it is sad to see this still on your menu. I hope to see changes made in future.More

The service was excellent, the staff very friendly, and the food was so good. We had the shark, the soup, and the fish and I would go there again to taste something else.

Pre booking is a must as many people turned away during our visit. Very friendly buzzy place. Great ambience. Excellent meat soup and fish pie. Recommend.

We absolutely got lucky in getting a table here. We walked in at dinner time with no reservations and they happened to have a table for two open. The service was polite, fast, and super busy. Loved the atmosphere. We both had reindeer burgers which...I absolutely recommend you try. The burgers were perfectly cooked and tasted so good. They paired very well with the dark Einstok toasted porter.More

This is a very busy place. Fortunately I was staying right across the street and more than willing to get take out, which I did twice. The meat soup and fish pie the first time; repeat of the meat soup and a lamb dog the...second. Service was quick and the food excellent. Very nice touches too - wonderful bread and butter included along with a couple of candies. Highly recommended.More

We visited this restaurant after a YouTube recommendation. We were seated at the bar as the restaurant seats were all taken. We waited approx 10 mins for a menu, I had to get the attention of the barman and he was very apologetic and passed...us the menus. The cider was very nice and I had a small lager that was served in a nice glass. The stew was very tasty and the rye bread was delicious. The barman was eager for us to sample other drinks but we were not interested. We will return again 😊More

I should have known this is a great place when I saw a lot of people seated there. Overall great ambiance, relaxed atmosphere, great service and excellent food. We enjoyed our dinner with the HREINDÝRABORGARI (Reindeer burger) and LAMBAPYLSA (Lamb dog). The desert SÚKKULAÐIKAKA (Chocolate...cake with Ice cream) was also yummy.More

This was our favorite restaurant in Reykjavik! It offered uniquely Icelandic food for my adventurous husband and son but also American food for myself and my daughter. The staff were very friendly and service was excellent. The sweet potato fries were the best we ever...had. My son tried cod for the first time and loved it. Just an overall great experience. I even bought a tshirt!More

As a mom of 4, I always end up sharing my food. I hovered over my plate, and I ATE IT ALL. Food was incredible. I had the reindeer burger. This was ..so, so good. I did a happy dance eating it. The meat was...very rich, not gamey. It came with a camembert cheese, amidst other toppings. I thought it would be too much, and I would just take some off. I took one bite and ate it the way it was. A work of art. My husband and 1 daughter ate the lobster rolls and Loved them. Another daughter had a regular (lamb) hot dog and loved it. 1 daughter (the picky one who loves to order food then not eat it) scarfed her beef hamburger down. 1 daughter ate the veggie burger, and said it was the best she had ever eaten. Service was wonderful, friendly and helpful. They made you feel as if you were in your favorite hometown watering hole. We came here without a reservation, and they were lovely, they worked us in while we had a drink at the bar. The beers on draft were quite good, according to my husband, and my wine, a Pinot Grigio, was great. I could eat here every night. If we come back to Iceland, we will eat here again. You need to go here.More

We were so lucky to get a table here as a group of 6 but it was last afternoon - any other time we passed or tried to get a table it was packed so my review is going to hold no surprises. The food...and staff are excellent. All our meals were tasty and good size portions plus it was such a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend you visit here.More

I highly recommend this restaurant. The service is very friendly and attentive, and the food is spectacular. I recommend the lamb sausage and the Elk burger. The have very good beer on draught as well. The menu is unique and they execute their dishes perfectly.

So many interesting choices. Most places in Iceland are accommodating for vegetarian or vegan options but gluten-free options were trickier to find. They had gluten-free buns for their burgers.
