We absolutely loved our meal here. We came as a family of six with four children. The restaurant was elegant and sophisticated but still very friendly. The food was outstanding and the restaurant was accommodating of our dietary requirements. The sushi platter was a real...showstopper. Thank you!More

Went here with a group of 7- adults, teenagers and seniors. Everyone loved their food. Must try the reindeer carpaccio! Cod fantastic, fish of the day amazing, lamb really good. Just top notch. Service was excellent. Love the round tables. Totally worth it. Highly recommend.

I don't like seafood, so only ate here because it was the location of our tour group's Farewell Dinner. Located in 18th Century building below street level in downtown Reykjavik. Considered one of Reykjavik's best restaurants. I enjoyed the salad and dessert -- thought my...prime rib entre was too fatty. Nevertheless, I give it a 4 rating because the fish eaters seemed to really like it.More

I stumbled upon this restaurant (which is housed in a 19th century store) while walking in Reykjavik’s city center. They have a lovely sunken terrace which was perfect for lunch on a sunny day. The menu features sushi (including “French” sushi) but I chose the...chef’s special fish of the day, which was an excellent combination of ling and wolffish. The bread is served with butter and granola to sprinkle on top—an unusual and fun twist. The service was friendly and prompt.More

We celebrated the end of our 10 days in Iceland with dinner at Fiskfelagid - we splurged with the World Menu with wine pairing. Everything was absolutely delicious. Some things that sounded a bit odd like cod with parsnip puree were absolutely to die for....Service was superb (even though I think we annoyed our servers with wino questions- not wine snobs just in the biz and curious). I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough!More

This is an upscale restaurant with outstanding seafood. You can order a la carte or you can order a fixed meal. We had the three course fish meal . The chef sent out an amuse-brouche of delicious shaved salmon wrapped in cucumber and they also...gave us wonderful bread with sweet butter. The first course was lobster soup and the main included three types of grilled fish and a dessert. They have an excellent wine list and serve cocktails. The total price was not that expensive given the amount and quality of the food. The best thing of all was our waiter who handled us in English while also working with speakers of French and Icelandic. We were inside but there is also outside seating. It can be crowded to make a reservation and come hear to enjoy a delicious meal!More

Fish Company : Vesturgata 2a, Grófartorg, 101 Reykjavík We were looking for an Icelandic fish dinner, and we were recommended to Fish Company, which is a very popular place and difficult to get a reservation. Although the wait staff was pleasant and professional, and there...is definitely an element of fine dining, it was not a stellar experience for us, because the menu had very little local fish options, relying instead on an international menu, which they call ‘Nordic fusion’. That wasn’t what we were looking for, however. It is a small, dark and cozy spot, located on a lower level in a busy shopping area. We received a tasty amuse bouche, consisting of smoked salmon and vegetables, before our appetizers. We were also served a local bread with whipped butter and granola, which we enjoyed. Catherine had the lobster soup, which was a tasty broth, not as ‘rich’ as advertised, to her pleasure, while I enjoyed the Blue Ling appetizer, which was a moist piece of ling in a rich, creamy broth. I ordered the Arctic Char & Scallop entrée, which was a lovely piece of char, and 2 scallops, but again is a rich cream sauce. Catherine thought that she was ordering a flat, flounder-like fish entrée, but it turned out to be a version of fish & chips, to her disappointment. I’m sure that many visitors to Fish Company have a wonderful visit, but this was not a highlight of our trip to Iceland.More

Amazing textures, innovative ingredients, great local flair, wonderful flavors, cozy ambience. We sampled a variety of different menu items as a group of couple and were all very impressed. We experienced a number of the top rated local restaurants and this was as good as...any other we tried.More

The people were so welcoming and the surroundings so pleasant. We loved the Artisinal bread that you coveted with butter and dipped in crunchy oats and seeds. The Artic Char was beautiful in presentation and paired with vegetables and beer foam. So delicious
